Simon / Darrell; check out www.terrainmat.com for excellent mats for your trafalgar game at Kelmarsh. perhaps the club could look into getting one of these and keep at Phoenix for use as and when

Simon; hows the printing off of ships shaping up and what size, and when, would you like some clear plastic chunks ordering?
as those of you who were at the 2nd Jan open day saw, we have been lucky once again to have figures donated to the club by a manufacturer, namely Wargames Factory, in the form of some 300 Zulus for Warrens Kelmarsh scenario.
Warren is painting these, with the aid of Jon (very kind of you Sir), and he may ask one or two others if they could do a unit or two of thees as well.
please try and help out if possible, cheers.

Carl,
change of plan - if we're going to get some of the mats (above) we need to use miniatures or else the effect is wasted

bad news chaps, have had an email today from the lady at EH who has said because of budget restrictions we cant have any more space than last year.
so, the games we will be doing will be;
Warrens zulu game
ECW Naseby (with Warlord Games)
Trafalgar rules naval battle
ACW - Gavin
Flames of War
this means that if we run the above we will not be able to let Bedford Gladiators have a table as asked for by Dave last week.
there is one other suggestion i have up my sleeve for EH but i will keep that under wraps at the mo, and will let you know more maybe next week.
cheers for now

bad news mate i think you should let dave know what has happened and the reason, becouse of what has happened i feel that it might be a good idear asking if any of the gladiators want to help but obviously giving priority to our members as it would be nice to see some of them as they are a fellow GCN club

i will ask them via Dave, but last year they didn't fancy joining in unless they got to run their own table. perhaps they could attend as gladiators but would need to join in with our tables due to space.

Last year we had the following tables Thermopylae (an easy 6 x4) FOW - Large 8x6 Romans vs Celts (large 8 x 6) ACW - again 8x6 ECW - was this also 8x6? a WoW / Gladiator table a 6x4 Spanish Civil war table.
Are you sure about no space?
Our zulu table will be 8x6 easy as will the ECW, FoW and possibly the ACW. However I can't see Trafalgar being on a huge table so technically that does leave 2 or 3 spaces left open - unless the Romans and celts are being used again? We are not having a WoW game this year but what about the table for Wargames Illustrated they had the Spanish one?

the Naseby game will potentially be 12ft x 6ft, plus last year they were a bit close together (which is why i asked for a bigger marquee) and it could potentially get crowded when the public comes in. also we have too consider floor space for people to use when staying overnight etc for camp beds etc. i am expecting more members to come this year and maybe more stay overs so this all has to be factored in / anticipated.
last years ECW was only 6 x 4, and the trafalgar table may be 6 x 4 as we are considering buying a terrain mat of that size.
WI magazine will not be running a table this year but i dont want it to be too crowded with just us, that not many public get in and we get complaints which leads to us not being there as we are seen to be concentrating on getting us in and not thinking of 'paying' guests by the EH organisers.
