i agree. pick a list and stick to it throughout the matches is best and fairest way.

So Fixed lists... 1500pts...
4pts for win/2pts for draw/1pt for loss...
Possibly 'Round Robin' style?
I assume all armies must be at least based and undercoated.. (mine should all be painted hopefully),
Just leaves the 'When' and how long it runs for..

They'll need to be based, in the case of the infantry and gun teams, I don't base my Tanks so it would be a little hypocritical of me to insist that everyone else does. Painted I'm less bothered about, although it's of course nicer to play with fully painted armies.
My intention is to have this kick off in the first week in March, as hopefully the SFS trophy games will have all happened by that point.
Everyone will need to play everyone once, but it will be up to the individual players to arrange their own games. That works out at 5 games a piece, which given a March start date would give us an approximate finish time of May or June depending on how quickly people play their games.
I personally can only play FoW once a fortnight at the most, due to the roleplaying game I run every other week, so probably setting an end of June deadline to get all the games finished by should allow everyone plenty of time to play their games.

Should we aim to get our Army Lists in for the 1st week in March, and then start the league on the 2nd week ( Tue 10th)?

Best not give it to me just yet, as I haven't worked out my own list as yet and I don't want to see any other lists until I've determined my own.

Windy; was it just a question of how many tanks are in it then? looking forward to german civil war. one question; do we all have to pick lists from the new fortress book or can we use specific ones? just asking because the points for the same tank etc vary from book to book so we need to make it fair. i'm ok with forgoing villers if i can borrow a fortress book to work a list out. thanks guys

Windy, does your list include anything that points to the sky?! Just a little clue as to what might be finding its way into my Yankee list! :-)
Carl - I will have my Fortress book next week if you want to borrow it. - Although I would have thought that we should allow a list from whatever book - I think thats how they run the tournaments - as long as you declare what book your force is from. I think the points vary due to slight differences in the platoon make ups and differences in training and motivation. - might be wrong on that though! Roddy

I personally don't think it makes a big difference which book you use to construct your army. The points difference on the tanks isn't very large, 5 to 10 points. Given that most tanks cost a good 60 or 70 points a tank, the points you save doesn't amount to very much unless you have a very large number of tanks in your army.
Generally the more focused lists, tend to have other weaknesses or units that are missing which pretty much balance up the areas where they are strong. Usually those forces that are fearless or veteran or both tend to cost more than their less skilled or brave equivalents, so it generally comes out about the same.
The most flexible lists are those out of Festung and Fortress, with the smaller books lists having far fewer choices available to them.
I'm quite happy to have people playing armies from any book they fancy using, providing it's late war.

Thats good, as my list will be the Commando list from the FoW web site, and using the 'Sword Beach' variationl. I will happily give a copy of the list to all opponents... but its basically the same as the one in Festung Europa. Strangly there isnt a commando list in the newer version Fortress Europe.

personally, to make the league fair, i think we should settle on using either festung or fortress as some of the lists in the smaller books are different points for various units and some lists just seem as though they are not balanced with each other but this is just my opinion.
i will be getting the fortress book soon so will do my list in a week or so but may need to borrow one if i dont get it in time.
cheers guys
