As we now seem to have a good number of Flames of War players with armies that are either complete or approaching completion, would there be any interest if I said I was thinking abort organising a FoW League.
My intentions here would for 1,500 point games, all played using the most basic scenario (2 Objectives per side) as this doesn't offer any real advantages to either attacker or defender.
I would be looking to start at the beginning of March as this gives us time not only to get the last few Simon Freshwater Sturgess league games out of the way, but also for those of us who have armies that need finishing off to get them completed.
If people are interested can they let me know.

Hello Stephen
As you know I built 3 Corps of the Prussian Army ready for the large Ligny battle but that now has gone pear shaped not to mention the table debacle and it looks like the Ligny scenario will not be played for some time if at all. Due to this I was considering building a western front village scenario with a few surprises for each army and after your post today what do you think ? I do not have any FOW figures or rules but I could knock up a great village with a difference, as I would not be fielding an army I could referee on my own or me and another referee preferably with FOW knowledge. Give me your thoughts any FOW players.

personally, i dont think we would need independent referees, as we dont have them in any other leagues we run, or have run previously.

Kevin,
If you want to look at designing a FoW Campaign, or a series of interesting individual scenario's that would be cool.
I can give you a hand with the rules end of any such endeavour.

Hello Stephen
Well I have made the 15mm scale moulds which are all different they include 30 buildings mainly French architecture, 25 field sections, 12 bocage sections, 6 river/lake sections, 10 road sections, 7 bridge/pontoon, 3 heavy bunkers, wall sections and more still in the pipeline. For the game I would paint and build a typical French village and surrounding countryside but I would add omit to the terrain certain elements features so the Axis and Allied players will be venturing into unknown territory as is a real battlefield. Regarding objectives and this I have seen played many times at other clubs not with FOW but it will work, you write down 6 to 12 single sentence order/objective slips of paper with the options of both Axis and Allied taking 1 slip each primary or 2 slips each primary secondary and also due to game play objective change sometimes a 3rd slip is picked by 1 player, its great you do not know where you are until the end turn when objectives are revealed as these give the main points, losses and whatever else to decide the winner/s.

Sounds interesting.
I guess we'd probably be looking at doing this kind of thing on an all day Saturday, as that would allow us to play a larger allies vs axis game with say 2 or 3 players a side.
I have quite a bit of 15mm road myself, although this is plastic coated cloth backed stuff, if you want to have a really extensive road network on the table.

Hello Stephen
No a weekly slot would be fine, crumbs how big do you want the village remember I need to paint all the pieces although it will be a lot easier than figures. I will cast, paint and build the village at home so all would be ready for the table.

I was thinking about 6 feet square would be nice. I was clearly more thinking about a set piece battle type of thing, where as I guess you are looking at a much more limited theater of operations.
