Actually this does sound a lot better as we will struggle with Bloodbowl. As Roddy did volunteer his services first for FoW he will get the nod.
Darrell this would mean that you could actually get up a fantasy or 40K doubles army with somebody else. I will make an announcement on Tuesday.

Ok got some news from Justin at Norman Cross Crusaders and the interclub challenge will be £60 per team which works out at £7.50 each with breakfast and lunch buffets included. That's very reasonable!
So far I have the following WFB Doubles - Julie and Warren (me) WFB Doubles - Darrell and Paul 40K Doubles - Going Begging FoW single x1 - Roddy Bloodbowl single x1 - Stephen
So let me know who is interested in 40K doubles please - oh and you do have to be a member of the Phoenix Gaming Club to play in this - no ringers I'm afraid - it is after all a Club vs club thing. Still waiting for the tournament rules pack for this but I'm assured that it will be soon - fingers crossed.

How many times do we have to attend to become a member?

You have to pay a membership fee of £5 a year which then qualifies you for a £2.50 rate per Tuesday instead of the £3.50 non-member rate. So effectively you can do sign up for memebrship and pay on your first night - but remember that your first ever gaming night at the club is free!

Ah! Well I'll have to get myself signed down for one of those then. I went last Tuesday (and one of you charged me! Haha ) to check it out and really enjoyed myself. Decent atmosphere, friendly people and plenty going on. Being as I've just been made redundant from GW I need some outlet for my gaming!

if you are not a member then you have to pay the guest fee if you play, and not if you dont. this is due to actually playing and using tables rather than just watching etc.
however, if you join i THINK that we are still doing the first night free but not 100% sure. you will need to ask Stephen who is the treasurer and the man taking the cash at club meets.
also, if you join you are also eligible for other things like club leagues and events such as Kelmarsh in July.
see you at the club

Still looking for x2 40K players for this. If you're interested it will be first come first served unless you have talked to Stephen prior to me writing this and it has been confirmed. You will need 750pts each for this and I believe as is with the fantasy that none of the pairs can have identical armies - so no blood brothers I'm afraid.

Have asked if it is possible for under 16s to be allowed to play - just waiting on an answer. Although this does also hinge on replies from Harry from the school and Darrell's decision to let Brandon play in the first place.
Could I ask people that they are still oK for this? I did ask above but got nothing in response. You do need to pay the Phoenix Club £7.50 for this tournament and monies should be in by 4th May 2010 (Tuesday). This is so we can pay collectively as a team rather than having dribs and drabs and have someone along the line being ripped off by Paypal.
Those doing fantasy - you do need a 1000pts each and I've just had it confirmed that its a filthhammer listing. You can take three hero characters EACH. Basically its 750pts each plus the extra 250pts to stick in somebody nasty. All named heroes can be taken. Still waiting on the confirmation of specials and rare slots allowed as well as the Core minimums. What are you taking Paul and Darrell? Wood elves and Daemons -(a stab in the dark?)
If you want Julie and I could give you both a practice game on the 4th May?

This is the message I got back from Justin at Norman Cross Crusaders hope he doesn't mind me posting it here. "no your interpretation is correct, daemons/warriors = 3 tzeentch heralds and 3 tzeentch sorcerers if you wish. your 1000 point team is whatever the allowance in the your book.
As I've said before we want to keep restrictions to a minimum, this means that across all 4 games there will be a point limit a no same/same in the doubles and nothing else. i am waiting for my 40k guy to email the mission selection but this will probably be issued on the day so as not to encourage certain builds. fantasy is easy there will be pitched battles with the possibility of some special conditions on the day.(Although i am organizing the event i will not disclose any special conditions or mission selection to any of our team members you have my word). Just to reinforce this point all our team members have chosen to represent the club in there 2nd or 3rd choice game, i.e. i play fantasy but will be playing BB in the tourney our best fantasy player is playing FOW and so on.
we really want this to be a fun event with emphasis on cheese in the wfb. cheers, Justin "
I would just reply that I'm crap at everything so no worries there! Our case is that there are only certain games that individuals know and perhaps just one out of the four listed that can be played (I only play fantasy). Stephen who is arguably (that means you can argue about it!) the best tactician in WFB is playing Bloodbowl (although his dice can be unkind). Darrell is more of a 40K player but is playing fantasy.

Just had it confirmed that U16s can play in this. If no other adults are willing to come forward to represent the club at 40K then will offer the places to Harry and Brandon (you ok about this Darrell? as you haven't answered yet)

Warhammer 40k doubles rules pack
Army composition All lists will be 750pts for each player making it 1500pts game, each army must be legal so 1 HQ and 2 troop choices per player (yes this means you will have at least 2 HQ choices in the army as a whole and 4 troop choices) the rest of each army can be chosen as normal. Example Space marine captain = 100pts Tactical squad =170pts Tactical squad= 170pts Leaving the player with 310pts to spend on what they want to the normal force organisation chart.
Missions All missions will be chosen at the start of the game with 1 team rolling for deployment and the other rolling for the mission, as 2 missions are objective based please bring suitable markers these can be as detailed as you like or can just be a number painted on a base the choice is yours, roll for deployment and then start the game as normal. At the end of every mission record who won or if it was a draw Score system 5 for a win 3 for a draw 1 for a loss
War hammer fantasy battle 2x1000 points doubles Simply this: Anything goes all legal lists are governed by the individual army books.(no forge world or white dwarf special rules) Each player in the doubles pairing has a 1000 points allowance as in your selected army book. i.e. dwarfs 1-3 heroes 2+ core choices 0-2 special 0-1 rare
simple. The only restriction is no same/same in the pairings we are looking for interesting combinations Any questions with regards to special rules applying to partners army pm me or we can sort it on the day.
Flames Of War 1000 points mid/late armies allowed. As per basic rule set, missions rolled for in each game.
Bloodbowl 1,000,000 GC any legal team in the bloodbowl rule book(GW)
simple enough guys hope so . ;D

Justin - spotted that you only allowed 2 specials above; my book has 3 specials for armies under 2000pts is that a typo or your tournament requirement?
Oh and happy birthday mate!
