Hello to all at pheonix!!! would you guys be interested in attending a club challenge on 16th of may we have invited yourselves leicester squigg, milton keynes, lincoln, huntingdon and peterborough gamers. We have already had one reply and confirmation the next 2 teams to reply are in. We intend to hold a 1 day 3 game event with 4 teams covering FANTASY 4OK Flames and Bloodbowl. Teams will consist of 8 (2 from each discipline) once we have 4 teams(2 spaces left) we will issue a rules pack. We want this to be a club event and only 2 individual awards of best painted and best sportsman(chosen by officials) It would be great if you could attend we have opened this to local clubs only so as to enhance the relationship between clubs in the area. If this prooves successful we will aim to hold an bigger annual event open to all club in the area.
please post here with any questions i will ask warren directly if he can mention this at your next meeting. thanks.

I'm certainly interested and so might Julie.
I would have to go for the fantasy as I know sod all else about the rest, what about others? Who wants in on 40K, Flames of War and Bloodbowl. Roddy - interested in Flames? Do we have Bloodbowl players? I know that Stephen and Darrell have played this. As for 40K there is a large selection of players that we have.
First to sign up here gets first dibs, You will have to act fast as by the above facts we don't have a lot of time.
So Fantasy - Warren and possibly Julie 40K? Flames of War? Bloodbowl?
Get your names down - first come first served.
@ stunties - how much is the admission for this and where exactly is it? In Yaxley?

I haven't played Bloodbowl in a long time. I have Orc, Human and Wood Elf teams that are gathering dust in the bottom of a case somewhere.
I'd probably enjoy playing a few games as haven't had a chance to play that in ages.
Whether I'd want to play at a competitive event or not would depend on what the Rules would be for the Bloodbowl portion of the event. I personally have a copy of the 3rd edition rules (from way back in 1994), and whilst I have read the living rule book (some years ago) I've never really thought they were an improvement over the rule set I have.
Incidentally this thread has prompted me to go looking for the Living Rule book to see what the latest set of rules actually is, and it appears the GW is no longer supplying the Living Rule book version of the rules (presumably as they're now selling the boxed set of the game again.

In Yaxley? we are in the back lane building in yaxley pe7 3js easy to find there are only about 3 main roads in yaxley(and its literally 5 mins from A1). we are going to have mini comps in fantasy and 40k to see who qualify's. As for flames we have some very experienced players to help out but some of the novices will be taking part. As for bloodbowl we have limited experience and it will be me and 1 other taking part we have the GW ruleset and will be using that. Cost will be upto the treasurer, he is currently sourcing some trophies and i am in discussion over hall hire. Rules will be simple if its in the book its ok(little or no comp). This looks promising it would be great if you can get 8 and attend as soon as you have a definate please email me.

Great Roddy - that's 3 out of 8 - we need 5 more players - I'm more concerned about the bloodbowl - who actually plays this? Darrell what about you I know that you know the rules for this. Stephen has an inkling for this I guess once he has read over the GW rules again.

darrell; think warren and julie have nabbed the two fantasy places so you may want to go for 40k

Ok I have myself and Julie already in for fantasy - what about 40K I thought you were the master when it came to this? I'll see if Julie wants to swap but I don't think its a good idea as Julie has only had a handful of 40K games. You on the other hand know your stuff inside out for 40K and have a couple of really good armies. Failing that I would like you to do Bloodbowl if you know how to play it.
So far for the team irrespective of what people want to do we have Warren (fantasy), Julie (fantasy or 40K), Roddy (FoW), Darrell (Fantasy, 40K or Bloodbowl?), Stephen (unsure - Bloodbowl??) any other takers??? Carl? what about you? What about all of these FoW players I've been hearing about there must be another one to accompany or tag with Roddy?

some of the FOW players like Andy are away at the mo and may want to go.
as for me i dont do bloodbowl and have only played a few 40k games so that too is out for me and i dont play enough flames at the mo to do that either, so its a no for this from me.

Sorry to mess people about the original details were a bit sketchy. Had a meeting with peterborough wargamers chairman today and they have only 1 Fow player since i mentioned at our meeting you(pheonix )may have similar problems we have had a rethink. One other deciding factor was the popularity of some games over others. Final team format:- 2 x fantasy doubles pairings(4 people) 1 x 40k doubles pairing (2 people) 2 x bloodbowl singles (2 people)
Teams consist of 8 members.
The only comp will be ANY pairings other than same army in both WFB & 40K. points limits are: wfb 2 x 1000pts (no comp/restrictions) 40k 2 x 750pts (no comp/restrictions) BB - teams of no more than 1,000,000 GC
i should have a rulespack available soon. Since were hoping this is going to be a fun event, we do not need to check lists and will be very trusting in this area.
1 further question which has arisen would you like buffet food and refreshments supplied and included in the ticket price or to keep costs down visit the local boozer?
ps. sorry roddy about FOW...

The game system we're likely to have a problem with getting players for is Bloodbowl rather than FoW. We have loads of Flames Players (8 or 9), but only two potential Bloodbowl players (myself and Darrell) and I don't think either of us have played a game in the last 5 years.
