I think just the entry fee for the All Dayer £4. There are no prizes up for grabs other than the prestige!!
So : confirmed entries so far :
Roddy, Alex, Andy, Stephen, Michael, Stuart
Possibles : Sean, James W (new member)
Have I missed anyone? We really need an even number otherwise someone will always be sitting out a round.
What do we think 3 rounds or 4? Any requests for missions? I was thinking Free for All, Encounter & Hold the Line.
Thoughts?
Cheers
Roddy

Also possibles for Dave and Mark from Bedford, who've both said they may be interested but weren't sure at the time if they could make it.

I'd think 4 rounds. A 600 point game ought not to take more than an hour and half to play after all, and could be done a lot quicker.

Hi James - Great stuff I will add you and Paul to the confirmed list- thats 8 confirmed and 3 possibles now! If we go for 4 missions does anyone have any requests for the fourth mission? I think fighting withrawal is out due to the low start number of platoons that leaves breakthrough and Cauldron and the specialist fortification missions, of course we could replay on of the first 3 missions.
Really looking forward to this now, should be a blast!
Cheers

you just need to chat with Steve re costs to attend. usually the Saturdays work out at about £4 for the day, but best to check with him.
how many tables do you think you will need as this is pencilled in as a normal open day for club members / anyone to come down and play rather than a tournament only day?
is this just being restricted to phoenix club members or open to other local clubs as well?
if you are going to be using all the tables best post something so everyone knows that the wooden ones will be the only ones others can use.

£4 a head is fine.
I'd imagine we won't be using quite as many tables as you'd think, as the games are going to be 4' x 4' rather than 6' x 4'.
4 Pairs of tables would give us enough to cater for a dozen players which appears to be the maximum we're likely to get.
That will still leave the club with plenty of spare tables for anyone else who doesn't want to play FoW.

if you are using 4 x 4 are you going to use the wooden ones for FOW leaving the others for standard games, depending on the numbers of non FOW players that turn up of course

The Wooden tables are a bit low for wargaming. Besides there will still be 5 pairs of tables left over for everyone else's use. More if we don't get 12 FoW players

I have a pair of tables much like the ones the club bought recently so if there is massive interest in the FOW comp and gaming generally for the day I can bring those down.

Slightly confused as 2.5 hour games = up to 1750 points at most tournaments - so that woudl give you three games in 1 day surely?!? I might well be up for this too.

Hi Nobby Its 600 points max so the game time should be much lower than 2 1/2 hours. I played a 600 point game the other week and it was over in under 2 hours (in which time my whole force was shattered ;D). I still think 3 games would be all we could resonably fit in though as if we kick off at 10.30am the first game wont be under way until 11 ish so allowing max 2 hours a game - 1.15pm start for second game and 3.30pm start for 3rd game. I think we need to be clear of the hall by 5 - 5.30pm ish - is that right Stephen? You bringing any of your lovely scenery if your comming Nobby? - oh and will you need an alarm call? ;D Cheers Roddy

Officially we've got the room booked until 5pm, but a bit of a overrun isn't a problem.
I haven't tried a 600 point game myself, but I'd have expected one to take maybe a hour and half at most, which ought to allow time for a fourth game. But we can always play it by ear, and only play three if it doesn't look like we'll have time for four.
