i have been conversing via email with Perry Miniatures who may be interested in helping us out in some way at next years event.
i have asked them to assist in a similar way to Old Glory this year and the Boer War stuff but i have asked them to donate the armies to us rather than English Heritage buy them, and their reply was not a definate NO but more so that they donate vouchers to clubs.
i have asked how this works and await their reply in the next few days.
the armies i asked them for are their new American Civil War models which i think could work quite well next year.
if we get this help, is anyone at the club interested in running a game from this period.

With this are you still going to have the Boer war scenario next year as EH did get the stuff for us and may still expect this as its a regional regiment.

I though EH asked us to run this game as it was the Anniversery of the end of the war.
If we do another Boer scenario, please count me out of that, I would like a change for the next event

the boer war scenario would hopefully still be run. the ACW is only a poss at the mo but we will have to see what games are available to be run and then see who wants to come. once all this info has been collated i will then sort out who is going to be on what tables. i was hoping that david would run the boer scenario if we did it although it does not have to be the same one and he could sort out a new scenario and more rules if he wanted. however, as i said nothing is definate as yet but will be looking to make a decision on what scenarios etc we will be doing by novemebr latest.

Great news guys, Perry Miniatures have agreed to sponsor a table and have so far said they will send us 12 boxes of ACW figures (approx 400) along with artillery units and army commands. this means that this is the SECOND definate scenario sorted for next year (i may do this instead of FOW so other people can put forward their own ideas) and if anyone would like to stick their name into the hat to run this game please let me know. once i have final details of exactly what they will be sending i will post it on here.
this now means we have roman, celt and both ACW armies being given free to the club, well over £400 worth of figures.
as last year with the Boers, once kelmarsh is over they will be available for people to use at the club nights.

great terrific news carl, as we now have a second confirmed scenario becouse i wanted to do a napolionic naval game which would have cost the club just under £100 for figures and rules i am quite prepared to shelve the idear and run the ACW game if that is alright with everyone?

Hey Darrell I just watched a documentary about Nelson's flagship - the Victory this early evening it was a really good watch! It was on the Military History Channel!
Great news Carl and well done for the grafting and communication with this!

Hi Carl
Assuming it is not too presumptous of me and that the club are happy for me to become a member, I wouldn't mind sticking my name forward for helping out with the ACW game.
I don't know how you get these guys to give up their figures. You must have dodgy photos of them or something! Crackin result though!

No problems at all with that Alexs.
All volunteers are welcome. The only stipulation is that everyone has to be a club member. So feel free to pop down one Wednesday evening and have a look at what we do.

Steve, Alex has been the last two weeks and is helping out next week at the Gamesday try-out on Warrens table. Alex, if no-one has mentioned about weekly fees they are £3.00 for members and £3.50 for non-members. Membership is £6.00 per year which is Jan to end Dec so we have only 4 months left of this year and if you ask Steve nicely he may do you a 'deal' so to speak. you get benefits other than entry into Kelmarsh etc (see me for Kelmarsh benefits) and Steve can run through them on Weds. see you there.
p.s. excellent that you are looking to come along regularly and be with us next year at kelmarsh, and as Steve says, no probs with helping out on the ACW table. thanks for volunteering.
