Unlike noble Warren (not playing in SFS), I will be playing in the event. Different kettle of fish in this case. If I was running just a day comp then I would be in it too. But thanks for the descriptive compliment!

Still need one more person for this, as Liam is now definately running an Appocalypse game.
Any suggestions on who else we can "persuade" to take part?

So how many players is that? 8? That's four teams. Three games each by my book!

Warren: The currency of bragging is obvious. Working at a school you should know what it's like in the playground "We beat you, na, na, na" Actually I'm usually too busy giving out detentions to notice Paul .... but I'll take your word for it na na na na na with bells on top! Quick question are these going to have the 90 min time limit on each game? Would be good to have a roster for the day. Would you like me to do this?

Warren,
Yes the time limit will be the same as the GW event, need to be strict on timings in order to ensure we complete all games.
If you would like to create a roster that would be great.
I believe we need one more player since Liam has dropped out, need to badger someone tomorrow night.
Also, players need to decide who they are going to pair up with. I will be partnering Darrell.

That leaves me, the fat kid in the corner, getting picked last Surely a random draw would spice things up?

I totally agree with windy (obviously not the "fat kid" bit as we all have put on weight over the years). I do believe that in fairness there should be a draw to see who plays with who, otherwise knowing what the others possess can lead to matching up before we started. Already an unfair I'll have first dibs and choose Darrell - knowing full well he would be playing a rock hard Daemon army. You only have to look at last years top 10 in the Warhammer doubles to see daemons everywhere.
I could quite easily pick Darrell or another Daemon player (if they wanted me), but that would be unfair on players that have not experienced doubles properly - and may (I say may) be on the end of a whooping from the more seasoned vets at this type of comp.
Just my two rupees worth.

Paul, Julie has said she can make the doubles so there is your other player as she does not have to work that day.

I prefer pre-selected partners, just like the GW event. What is everyone's opinion?
Warren, I didn't select Darrell, he asked me and I will be taking the current weakest army in WH to compensate for partnering Daemons - Namely Beasts of Chaos.

Personally, I don't really mind who I'm partnered with (I like to be friendly everybody), so however you want to organise it is fine by me I'll probably be playing my elves (putting a 750pt ogre list together is hard work) With me, of course, that means as much magic and shooting as I can get away with ;D Only trouble is, I can't really justify the dragon at 750pts BTW: regarding the "fat kid" - I concur with Warren, most of us fall into that catagory these days

I would also rather play with pre-selected partners.
I'd quite like to play with either Andy or Mike as I think High Elves and Skaven would make an interesting combination.

"Hey, fat kid gets picked" Does that mean I'm playing in goal? Sorry, serious now, I'd be honoured. The only reason for suggesting a random draw was in the interests of fairness for you lot, as being lumbered with my inexperienced little elves might prove a handicap. If the consensus is for selected then fine by me 750pts is well within my grasp and comprehension, need to have a chat with my partner once selected though.
