Nope, none of them count towards the 25% minimum core. Which means that a VC army must spend 25% of its points on Skeletons, Zombies or Ghouls.
Any unit that has the doesn't count towards core rule basically doesn't fall into any of the categories, so just counts towards you total points, but not how much of a % you have of core units.
Also they don't count towards the minimum three units you must have in your army. Although these three minimum units don't all have to be core, if your 25% core is one huge, or very expensive unit, the other two could be special or rare choices.

that means you couldn't take them AT ALL, and the corpse cart can def be taken. the GW guy agreed it should be FAQ'd as it now says 25% points from core section

You can take bat swarms/dire wolves, you just need to fill your 25% from skellies/zombies/ghouls first. Which, I admit, is a bit limiting to say the least...
Though them not counting towards minimum units is a bit odd!
Also the natural 1 or 2 roll ending the magic phase takes effect if you are only rolling 1 dice.
Had a chat to the manager in GW Northampton today (nice guy). Ahead of my game against Paul tomorrow night, thought I'd better get a bit of low down on the rules! Also spent most of yesterday evening making ten wide movement trays for my Gobbo's - gotta love that Horde rule with non charging Gobbo's with spears fighting in four ranks!!!

ah, but the army book is geared towards the OLD rules and it says they dont count towards minimum UNIT requirements but now there are no minimum unit requirements, only minimum points values
have emailed GW and will let you all know the answer soon as i get it

The rule book already contains the answer. On page 134 in the Core Units section of the Choosing Your Army chapter.
I quote:
"Some core units do not count towards the minimum points you must spend on core units (sometimes written as 'do not count towards the minimum number of Core units you must include' or variations thereof) or indeed the minimum number of units you must include in your army. In fact, such units don't count towards any category, just the points value of the army"
This is pretty clear really. Anything that says it doesn't count towards minimum core units, or similar wording, doesn't count as part of the 25% minimum core units points cost. That means Chaos Hounds in the Warriors of Chaos List, Dire Wolves, Bat Swarms and Corpse Carts in the VC list, and so on.

OOOOOps! You fancy a game next week Carl? 8th Ed 25pts each ha ha! I'll play against your VC against my Empire army - no STANK ... to give you a chance ha ha! ;D Or should I use Julie's rather more powerful Dark Elves? These are really awesome now... completely blew my VC to pieces. Carl did you get rid of your ogres as these a pretty cool now? Just to add Daemons especially Khorne has seemed to had a lift with anti-spells. That's not a bad ward save at all now for them with the extra magic resistance on top of their daemon ward save. @jon - you don't mind if Julie and I watch your game for a bit tomorrow as we've got a lot of other things to prepare for kelmarsh? I'm interested at the time factor - Julie and i spent about 3 hours playing 2000pts - going through the rules etc... and being slow anyway.

Don't mind at all mate, I'm sure Paul won't either. We're not sure on all the rules, but just fancied giving it a try with what we do know - though if someone did turn up with the new book it would be useful!
PS a bit of randomness never hurt anyone:)

How about we organise a 'larger' battle? all bring 750pts next Tues, we can do a 'round robin' like we did for WAB. Then we get to playtest the rules without getting too bogged down in large scenarios.
Just a thought
