Hi all,
I know that me and Roddy were blatently herranged into purchasing some 28mm WWII minitures from Warlords, I got some Fallschirmjager (supierior airborne forces....) and Roddy got some Red Devils i believe (almost as good as the Fallschirmjager... ;P)
I believe Alex has a copy of 'Rules of Engagement' and after a quick chat with Warlord guys, these are apparently a good ruleset, with the emphasis on 'Tactical'.
Salute is coming fast, and I belive this may find its way into my 'shopping basket', unless anyone recommends, or if loads of people are playing a different ruleset.
All thoughts welcome as usual...
Kieron

Kieron; James has a set of the rules he got in his schools purchase from warlord games, and if you want to buy them at salute let me know as Gareth said if you all place orders via me, he will sort them out separately (put them aside) and give us a decent discount, so let me know mate and i'll add it to the order Andy is going to put.

Carl can you put me down for a tenners worth of casualties - you know the deal I mean. Also depending on the discount I might be able to strech to a box of dragoons too. Any chance you can find out how much they want for me?
RE ROE happy to bring to club for you to look at.

I have indeed got the rule bookand I bought a couple of box sets of figures Gerries and Brits wheb Hydra were selling them off cheap. They do look like a good set of rules and there is a turn sequence tutorial on their website. www.greatescapegames.co.uk

So.....when are we going to have a try out game? ?! My Red Devils are itching to prove to those pesky Fallschirmjager who the best elite airbourne troops are (although I really dont think Fallschirmjager should count as airbourne as their boss wont let them jump out of planes any more :-) ) Cheers Roddy

Hi. I've played ROE at the Warlords a couple of times now. I play German paras and have noticed that when playing the attacker the firepower is reduced because you can't move and fire lmg's and the para's squad has two. Even the "tactical flexibility" rule is difficult to use as once you've allocated the nco to the mg team you're down 3 figures, then the rest of the squad moves and you can't fire the 2nd mg. So in both the games I've played I have found that when you attack you are very undergunned. I don't know if anyone else has noticed this so if anyone has a way round it i would be interested. Ta!

Don't know if this would interest anyone but I didn't realsie that Harlequin miniatures do a range of historical stuff - including 28mm WW2. I just grabbed a load of Zulu stuff that I thought Kelmarsh could do with kneeling Brits for the volley fire, zulu chiefs and a rocket launcher. They are currently knocking loads off their prices at the mo up to 50% and they are metal!! www.blacktreedesign.com/uk/home.php
