Had a great but tiring weekend during the WFB comp as there was no WAB. I came third but could have done better if I knew about the BSB rule - that if he flees from combat he's more VPs in my pot as he counts as being destroyed - d**n. Steve Frisby organised this one pretty well and had to improvise to make the odd number up (you were missed Darrell). Julie received the a "one of those bad days" trophy having lost all her matches.
Saw the Warlords guys up there, plus Simon, and a loads of others. I bought 2 boxes of Vitrix and Perry's Naps Infantry (Light Fusiliers and Old guard) and Julie is going Prussian - Warlords are getting some new models in a week or so so we ordered a box from them. Just wondering what people who are considering doing for games rules for NAps. There is so much about that its difficult to choose. Black Powder looks ok but I just don't feel the rules or find them realistic to the models that I have. Maybe I need to look at it more. However there are other systems and I'm sure there is a WAB version of it somewhere. So who else is collecting Naps? (With Hougoumont in five years it best to start now whatever happens - always wanted Le Grande Armee)
If anything I wouldn't recommend the hotel at all. Couldn't get any sleep because of the thumping disco over the road and the drunks and shouting chavs wanting to beat each other up in the street outside of it. Police sirens etc to break it up. This went on till 3 or 4 in the morning. Breakfast was ok but I've had better. Great staff there very polite and helpful - but I will go somewhere else next time.
