Does anyone know if the Skaven leadership bonus (offered by ranks) is calculated as per the number of full ranks at the start of combat (as with the combat bonus) or reacting to the number of ranks as a break test is about to be taken?
Don't know and haven't been able to find out...

normal combat res is worked out inc ranks at the START of combat, not what is left at the end.
Stephen may be able to tell you if Skaven rules are different or not.

Not 100% sure, but I would say almost certainly to be:
The rank bonus at the time the Ld test is taken, i.e. after combat has possibly removed a rank.

I've generally been playing it as Paul says, the rank bonus at the point you take the leadership test (so after combat losses). But you've made me wonder, so I'll have to check that.

Yes for all other armies its the rank before combat but for Skaven what does them is the wording "current rank value" from the new Skaven book. So for them only its after combat.
