I've been looking around for a new gaming system to try/play in the new year, and after a few chats with various people, The Uncharted Seas, cropped up as a good, fairly quick, small/cheap to collect system to play. I imagine playing this when I dont have a lot of time to play a full game of FOW/GW stuff, a bit like Wings of War, and with a fleet costing under £30 it doesnt break the bank. BUT, it's no point having a fleet with no-one to sink... www.empiregamestore.co.uk/ seems to have all the basics at a good price, so go have a look, and if anyone else has an urge for fantasy naval fun, please post. For more info on the game go to: www.spartangames.co.uk/index.htmlKieron

Kieron, I'd been looking into this too and there is a league about to start at my other club, so I'd be up for a little seaborne mayhem.

Julie and I have got into Pirates and this is really cheap to collect. We have a lot of pirates of the Caribbean ships, tokens etc and there is another few pirate sets such as "Mysterious Islands" and "Cursed seas". We mix and match up the ships from each set as they all play the same rule set. If anybody is interested I could bring this up on AGM night for a game. They don't take long to play (depending on how many points you play). Really easy rules.
With the game above unchartered seas what is the requirement for boat sizes as I'm wondering whether the pirate ships that I have could be used as proxies.

That's quite tempting. All the fleets look pretty nice to me. I think I'm probably most tempted by the Orc, Elf and Dragon fleets, although they're all good.
If several people are going to start playing this I'll probably buy some too, as £30 for a fleet is not that expensive.

I've got a fleet of painted "Shroud Mages" and should have another one of Dwarves soon. They are really easy to paint, which suits me. If anyone fancies a trial game or has their own fleet, just let me know and we can arrange something. Andy

I would love to try out the Dwarf Fleet as thats the one i was looking at for myself.
Im pretty booked up with games for the next 3 weeks, but hopefully sometime in March...
I may even have my own fleet/book by then.
Also, what are these 'Fleet Cards'? are the a necessity or just a gaming aid?

Two starter fleets ready to go, but I'm booked up for the next two weeks. If anyone is keen give me a date after that! Fleet cards bring an extra dimension to the game as you can have one per squadron still afloat. They are bonus cards, anything from repairs, changing wind direction, shooting advantages to ramming improvements. Kieron, the short stumpy engineering fanatics are yours to command Andy

I now have a Dragon Lords fleet, which I picked up at Corrivalry.
It's not painted yet, but once I've finished off my Handgunners for the doubles on Saturday I'm going to get started on painted them up.
Hopefully I should be ready to play a game before the end of the month.

So it looks like i'll be Iron Dwarf then....
Will order a fleet from Maelstrom next week, or may wait and get a fleet from Salute.
Could do with a 'learning game' soon. I've got Tues 30th Free at the moment. Anyone help?

Kieron, I'm up for a game on the 30th, I'll bring both the Shroud mages and the Dwarves and you can play which ones you want to, i have the fleet cards for both. Stephen has a fleet too, so open invitation to him, if he's free then and play as a 3 player game.
