Further to my announcement on weds, i can now confirm that Warlord Games will kindly sponsor one of our tables at next years event.
This sponsorship will take the form of them GIVING the club 1 x Roman army and 1 x Celt army for us to paint up and use. This probbaly will equate to at least a 2 or 3 hundred pounds worth of free miniatures for the club, if they were obviously purchased by us, so an excellent result for Phoenix.
These armies will be the clubs to KEEP and use at any future events we attend, similar to the Boer War stuff we got this year.
A scenario will be sorted once we know the ezact models / make-up of the armies and needless to say this will DEFINATELY be one of the games that will be run next year.
I am still awaiting news from Perry Miniatures whether they willalso be doing something similar for us from their new ACW range.
Once i have more news i will let you all know.
Steve has expressed an interest in being one of the people manning this particular table and if anyone else is interested in this game, please let me know below.

This is pretty cool. Especially as their blocks of Roman and Celtic warriors are plastic kits. I think they retail at 30 models for £17. They've got the sprues on disply in a cabinet in Project Hydra and they are pretty detailed and each box includes a sheet of transfers for the shield motifs.

Jon; how do you fancy painting up the celts for us. theres loads of skin and woad markings etc as well as gaudy coloured clothes, and there may be some horses too.

Well ok, I'll give it a go. Painting flesh isn't my strong point though!
Having mentioned the plastics above, the metal models are good too, such as the Roman auxilliary archers etc...good value blisters conisidering the amount you get in them.
