Bob from the Northants modelmakers came to visit us tonight at the club and invited the Phoenix Gaming Club to the Model-Ex 2010 show on 10th and the 11th of April. This will be held at the Windmill School in Raunds. If we could put on a couple of tables this would be nice. Unfortunately Julie and I at a wedding on the 10th, so are there any other takers for this to put on a table. Bob said that he didn't mind what type of game was being played as long as it depicted wargaming models... criteria very easy to fulfill there. If you have an idea and would like to show full commitment to this please sound your horn here with potential details. Remember that although we have been invited to Model-Ex 2010 we would be still representing the Phoenix Gaming Club all the same. I need to get a decision back to Bob by early January - we have to be quick to book tables. I would like to say a big thank you to Bob for the invite come what may .

i think due to space you'll struggle to do 2 full tables. the event is very packed out with exhibits etc. and they only use classrooms etc which aren't huge. not a bad event though

I think it would be nice to run a game. If we want to do something that isn't going to involve a lot of time designing a scenario and so forth, we could always take down one of the games we ran at Kelmarsh this year. I'm thinking of the ACW or Celts vs Romans WAB mainly as all of those models belong to the club.

Umm, probably.
Did you get back to the guy and tell him we were coming, as I don't remember if we'd agreed that we were running a game or not?

No unfortunately I didn't as I didn't think there was an interest with GW doubles and I have lost the flyer he gave us - I think he was hoping for us to get back to him early January. I can't make this as I have a wedding to go to - which is unfortunate. I will try and find his email and send it to you if I still have it (or if indeed I had it in the first place).
Ah just found the flyers and phoned him he says you can a classroom! Approx 15 "kids" tables in there so easy enough to get one or two tables going. If I can get away on the Sunday I might just pop in to help but I definately can't on Saturday.
The organiser is Bob Humpage and his number is pmed for you...

I'll sort something out there over the weekend.
First thing is to find out if anyone else wants to go, as I don't massively fancy running a game all on my own.
What we do might be a bit up in the air. Rather depends on exactly what I can get my hands on.
