Stephen and I have now completed the Rushden Rumble pack for the doubles tournament in March for everyone to see. It will be posted up here for you at the club to see. After three days or so I will advertise to other clubs so you have this time to voice any opinions and constructive c's.

Good job on the first draft Warren, a lot of work has gone in there and i'm impressed that a lot of questions that may arise have already been covered.
A very comprehensive read-through by Liam and that is why someone who hasn't created the pack should review it, as once involved it's all too easy to miss these things.
I personnally don't think Liam's assistance is a discredit to the authors, but a help and public posting stops others having to duplicate his comments.
My comments:
Should we put something at the top to state that the intention is to have a fun tournament first and find a winner second? We don't want GT mentality here.
Should we state that 'a referee's decision once made is final', as it's too difficult to 'roll-back' after the event even if the decision is proved to be wrong.
For the VC crumbling, if they are BB shouldn't both force's crumble?
In the GW event, non-BB characters cannot join another race's unit. You are allowing it in this tournament, which is fine, but can cause rules complications.
For the identification of the referees, I think it would be better to have only the referees wear club t-shirts (no other club members), as then they are easily spotted, as opposed to knowing someone's name. Especially when you have spelt my name wrong again.

Thanks for the comments Liam. Thanks to endless estimate writing at work my spelling and grammar is much better than it used to be, however it is easy to miss things when you re-read your own documents.
I have been through and made pretty much all of the corrections or alterations you've suggested. I need to sort out a map with fast food places listed.
I would tend to agree with you on the Allies List. I'm not overly keen on the Highly Distrustful Allies thing either, but it's Warren's tournament and I'm not really that bothered about it.

Forgot to attach the revised pdf. For whatever reason you can't amend an attachment when editing a post.

Paul - I don't know why I keep spelling your surname incorrectly sorry for any offence... Stephen could you change this please. Good idea on the t-shirts and one which I was going to bring up on the forum. I think the recent "blue" t-shirts should be used, however I am aware that a few people did not acquire one. If this is the case then the black one should be used. Perhaps a sache could be acquired or why not rob a motorway engineer of his luminous jacket ;D
Yes, naturally if VC are Battle brothers then both would crumble - however the comment was there strictly for the same potential question vis a vis TK and VC pairings.
The allied pairings are there as a novelty and to ensure that this particular tournament is ours and not a direct copy of GW. If the latter is what I wanted I wouldn't have gone to all the trouble to write the rulespack. I would have simply asked people to download GW's doubles rules from last year... incidentally where do we stand on copyright for that? The HD allies are there for people who may not go to the doubles themselves but fancy something different. Those going will obviously choose their army from GW's listed pairs and of course they will not be penalised as much. If you don't want it - don't choose it. Paul I thought you liked a challenge? VC and Daemons against something you may bring may sound very challenging - as you said its a fun tournament and rightly so should be listed as such.
All tournaments have their rules all based around a core games set. GW often change their rule set every year - even the doubles affliation / allies table. People comment positively and negatively about it soon after its published. Yet everyone comes along and its all forgotten about as people play their games. The idea of the rules set is to show people what there is on offer rules wise. If they don't like it then by all means they don't have to pay their well earned £5.00 or any transport costs and they can enjoy their Saturday somewhere else.
Oh Liam? That comment for my reports still stands! Have you ever thought of being a proof reader for large companies or perhaps go freelance. I think you are missing out on quite a bit of dosh out there.

I forgot to mention that for the painting competition the voting is as it should be. Each individual gets two votes each - rather than the doubles team gets two votes. One for the best choice and one for their second choice.

Thanks Stephen I think it is safe to take this and go to other clubs as I believe we have all the pairings we are going to get from Phoenix. However if there are some of the younger chaps such as Lewis and Christopher may want to get their baptism into a tournament. It would be a good start for them and a nice experience.

Is it possible to move the attachment link upwards a bit and leave as a sticky as down the bottom of the page it looks a little lost cheers Stephen.

It isn't.
I can post the rules in a separate thread which I can sticky. Unfortunately the only way to attach a document in this forum is when you create a new thread, or reply to an old one. You can't alter the attachment when you edit a post.
