Do we have any Epic Armageddon players at the club?
I downloaded the rules recently and found them easy to understand and was wondering if there were any existing players at the club who might be willing to go through the training scenarios with me.

I still have some of my old original Epic Chaos stuff. The vast majority of which is unpainted.
I'd be interested in trying the new system, but I'm not sure whether what I have will fit the current systems units very well.
Beastmen, Minotaurs, Trolls, Disk Riders, some Chaos Marines. Not sure how many bases of what I have left anymore as it all got shoved into a box and has pretty much remained there for about the last 12 years.
I have plenty of the bigger stuff. Lord of Battles, multiple greater deamons and daemon princes, Titans, Daemon Engines of Khorne, Silver Towers, Firelord, etc.

There are currently two Chaos lists available for download (neither of which has yet been published but is available for use), the Black Legion (i.e. Chaos Space Marines) and the Lost and the Damned (all hail the forum censor ). Both of them seem pretty fun to play and it sounds like you could still use a lot of your old miniatures using one of those lists.

Hmm.
Given what I think I have neither list is ideal. Probably the Chaos Marine list is closest to what I have, as I still have some of the basic marines, rhino's and landraiders from the Space Marine boxed set. Which I think would give me at least two formations of chaos marines, plus a few extra bits and pieces.
With that list I can't use any of the daemon engines I have however, but can use the Titans.
I probably have enough stuff to do a Lost and Damned army, but can't then field the titans or vehicles.
My army is this way as it was built around the original chaos list from Renegades, so designed around each Greater Daemon having it's own retinue. I have Angron, Mortarion, Magnus the Red, A Bloodthirster, a Keeper of Secrets and posibly Fulgrim, plus the Lord of Battles.

I'm honestly not what I've got for this anymore. I'll have to dig the box out and go through everything. I should have some landraiders, some rhino's, some thunderhawks, plus a few daemon engines and bits.
Whether I want any more stuff is rather open to debate. I'm a terrible hoarder of this kind of thing, so if anyone offers me stuff my initial instinct is to say yes.
Space Marine was what I effectively cut my wargaming teeth on, although my first army was technically a Warhammer Empire force, so I have a pretty big soft spot for the original miniatures and rules. The minatures were cheap and you got masses of stuff in the boxes, the unit cards made sorting out an army very simple, and the game was great fun to play.
All things considered it's probably still my favourite GW game system, certainly the one I've enjoyed playing the most. I've always thought it was a shame that when GW revised it in the late 1990's into Epic 40,000 they managed to spoil most of the good points of the original game.
It's nice to see the current version of the rules has gone quite a long way back towards what the original game was. Although having read through the rules I'm still inclined to think that the Space Marine rules are still superior to Epic Armaggedon. I only wish I still had my unit cards as I'd be tempted to actually play a game of Space Marine, but without the cards I can't actually construct an army.
