below are the basic rules i was going to distribute for the upcoming trophy.
if the new organiser wishes to use all or some of these please feel free, or alternatively, please feel free to ignore them completely.
The format of the competition will be one army per person to a value of no more than 2000pts, and following all the rules for this size battle as outlined in both the main rulebook and the individual army books. The same army list must be used throughout the tournament.
As not all the army books have been updated as yet to include special characters as standard army choices, then for the purpose of this initial competition NO special characters will be allowed. For example, the Green Knight, Azhag, Skarsnik, Manfred, Morathi etc are all ineligible. Lord choices can, but do not have to be taken as outlined in your army book. If you are unsure about whether you can include a specific character please ask. The model for a special character can of course be used to represent a normal lord / hero choice. Only armies that have official army books are allowed.
All matches will be played using the current pitched battle scenario rules, and an independent person should be asked to set up your table terrain prior to rolling for sides etc.
Please follow all the standard rules for working out points won at the end of each game as per the main rulebook.
In the interest of fairness in table set up please follow the following guidelines for selection of terrain pieces.
1. D3 woods per table. Wood elves get their free wood as normal.
D3 hills per table. If 2 or more are rolled then there MUST be 1 hill in each table half with the person setting up the table choosing the table half for the 3rd hill if appropriate.
2. Points will be awarded as 3pts for a win, 2pts each for a draw, 1pt for a loss. A win can be any points value over the minimum number required to give the smallest victory margin as outlined in the main rulebook. No additional points are gained or lost due to a massacre result for example.
3. Victory points should be noted but will only be used in the event of ties at the end of the league to determine 1st / 2nd place. If victory points are the same then a play-off may be needed to determine your final league placing.
4. Depending on how many leagues we have, the winner of one league will play a runner up in another league with the winner progressing. This will continue until a champion is crowned.
If there are any questions please contact me asap and please fill in the form below letting me know what army you will be using. I will need an army list for each person. Characters to be shown as lord, hero, mage (inc. level) and any magic item(s) inc. the points value per item. Magic banners to be listed in the same way.
One list only is to be submitted and this list MUST be used for every game of the competition including the final. You cannot change the list to suit the army you will be facing in any different round etc.
No special markers will be used this year.
