yeah 750pts prob better, and yeah it was for the doubles, sorry.
i would write my list and then stick it in a sealed envelope and give it someone who was not playing and then ask for it back once all the others were in.
i dont mind running it, just thought it would give you a break after the last one plus the ancients one and then the phoenix doubles, which as i said we could do together if you like.
also, you could then play in one campaign at least, without worrying about sorting all the bits during and after.
when do you envisage the ancients campign finishing, as perhaps should not run until afterwards.
i was going to do a fantasy campaign next year so could do this instead.

The ancients has only just begun but as it runs for only one or two at the most games per month - there really shouldn't be any problems with running them concurrently. The only difficulty will be for those that are roleplaying and are in the Historical campaign - they could only effectively play once every five weeks. One week playing historical, next roleplay, the next whatever (SFS?) then role play then historical. There are about 10 rounds so effectively 10 months of play. However I'm trying to get people to play two games a month if they can. I'd say leave it until December or January. Remember that it would only be four games each in both leagues with just five players. A semi and a final. That should be finished by mid june or sooner. I could do with the help for the doubles etc if you can but please run anything odd or changes past me first. Paramount is getting in contact with the Scouts ASAP and asking them about viable dates and the time we envisage holding this event. Ideally we should be in at 08.30 to set up and leave at the latest 6.30pm for four games.
Oh and there is the Xmas do (bowling sounds good - bring out the kiddy frame for me!) to sort out as well as the raffle! Have we any bitz and bobz for the raffle yet?

I did not intend to accuse anyone of cheating, if that is the impression I gave I apologise. It was my intention that this should be taken into account so that our club cannot be accused of "rigging" it so one of our members won, Just because we are that d**n good .

Dates for the Scout Hut isn't generally a problem, the scouts don't usually get that many Saturday/Sunday bookings for the hall. I'll enquire of Alison as to what is or is not available.
I would just need to know roughtly when we are looking to run this doubles event, purely so I'm not just writing down the whole booking Calendar. Presumably we're talking spring next year, say February/March to slot in a little before the Warhammer Doubles event.
In terms of costings the hall costs £10 an hour to hire, with basically an hours discount to allow setting up and packing up time. We usually hire the hall for our own all day stuff from 10am - 5pm, so 7 hours costing £60. But there is no reason why we can't extend the time slightly at each end so say 9am - 6pm, which would cost the club £80.
At that cost we'd only need 8 teams at £5 per player to cover the hall hire costs, and I think we'd be fairly likely to get that many as a minimum.

what about early March, as if people have to travel the best of any potential bad weather should be out the way as it is early spring, no guarantees of course but better chance of it.

I would like this run perhaps the first week in March - however we must check the GW calendar for their events as we do not want to clash with them. There will be a number of finals - Throne of skulls etc around this time as well as a 40K tournie.
So any time plus or minus a week around there will be awesome. The last entry so far for Warhammer world for events seems to be the LOTR grand final in January - this still has the Grand finals for WFB and 40K to be announced which would presumably be in February if not sooner than that.
