As it’s now only a little over a fortnight away from Phoenix’s next all day Saturday, which we have been looking to do a bit of interclub gaming with Phoenix’s members playing some games against some of the Gladiators, I've decided to give everyone a bit of a kick (Gladiators included) to get this thing sorted out.
We currently have two different things organised.
• A 40K Apocalypse Style Game with a Phoenix Team taking on a Bedford Team
Basically this is a 3,000 point per player affair, max 4 players a side.
As per the basic Apocalypse rules you don’t have to worry about the force organisation chart, just bring down whatever units you feel like (so 3,000 points of just Tanks for example is fine). If you have any Super Heavy vehicles those are also fine. What army you are taking doesn’t matter.
We’re not worrying about the stratagems however as this takes time to sort out unless plenty of people have access to the Apocalypse rule book.
I know we had a bunch of people who said they were interesting in taking part in this game, so I just need to know how many people are planning to come down, so I can make sure the sides balance.
• A Warhammer Mini Tournament
I know there has been a bit of discussion over a Legendary Battles game vs a series of one on one games. That seems to have stalled so on grounds of simplicity I’m suggesting we run a one on one mini tournament.
This is going to be pretty straightforward, play a series of three 1,500 point Warhammer games against the Gladiators members (it’s 1,500 points rather than 2,000 so that we have time to actually get three games finished).
If I have time I may even sort out a certificate for the best players from each club.
Again I need to know who is interested in taking part in this so I can make sure we’ve got enough numbers to make this work. Although with this one I can probably already make educated guess as to who will want to play and is available.

and me!
Julie would like to do the 40K apocaypse but may struggle on 3000pts. She will be adding up what she could take but may be shy on 500pts - unless someone could lend her a few eldar (aspect warriors etc).

That's not a problem. As I now have a whole load of extra Eldar Stuff. In terms of Aspect Warriors I have Striking Scorpions, Howling Banshee's, Swooping Hawks, Fire Dragons, Warp Spiders and Dark Reapers. Plus a couple of Phoenix Lords, Mugan Ra and Asuraman.

She will let you know at the weekend through me. Although intially she is tempted by the dark Reapers and Striking scorpions! Any dire avengers as she only has about six?

I have three, although they're the old metal ones and at present they're not even undercoated.

That's fine so that she can make a unit of 9.

I was looking at having things run with the game scheduled as follows:
Game 1: 10:30 - 12:00 Game 2: 12:45 - 14:15 Game 3: 14:30 - 16:00
That's allowing 1 and a half hours per game (which at 1,500 points should be enough).
Everyone gets a 45 minute lunch break, and with packing up time and announcing of results people ought to be able to leave a bit after 16:30. Even if things over run a little we'd still be all done and dusted before 5pm.

Do we hand in the army list on the day or will you need this beforehand?
