That's a lot Brian - Is that all 28mm or is it the 10mm that you were playing the other day? I surprised you didn't put yourself forward for the 28mm historical campaign that we will have running soon. It would have been nice seeing something a little more obscure than just Romans or Macedonians. Armenian, Dacian or Pontic would have been a very good addition even just for variety. Alex how you getting on with your Chinese list? I wait with avid anticipation. It has to be emailed (via attachment word.doc or Excel sheet) to me by the 11th August which is a week on Tuesday.

Hi Warren
It is all 10mm, and the rules i use are `shock of impact`
I would have liked to put my name forward for the campaign but with no 25mm figures and not being able to play the game. Shock of impact is quite different from what I have seen. If you want to change the whole game over to 10mm and shock of impact I will not object.!!

I really should come and watch your game with Alex as I've got a whole load of 10mm Celts, which are admittedly not painted as yet.
What basing scheme does shock of impact use?

Hi Stephen
Base sizes for S cf I
HI MI 7.5 x 10 LMI, LHI 10 x 15 LI 15 x 15 FAC 7.5 x 20 AC, HC, MC, Camels, 10 x 20 LC 15 x 20 2 horse chariots 20 x as required
All base sizes are per figure but it is usual to base several figures on one base.
So when will the celts be painted and ready to fight ??
If you want i can copy the Dacian, British, Germanic, Galatian, and Celtic army lists for you, just let me know.
Thanks
Brian

I’m assuming those bases sizes are in mm?
I’m also not quite 100% sure about some of those abbreviations, I’m presuming they are as follows:
HI = Heavy Infantry MI = Medium Infantry LMI = Light Missile Infantry?, Light Medium Infantry? LHI = Light Heavy Infantry? LI = Light Infantry FAC = ? AC = Armoured Cavalry? HC = Heavy Cavalry MC = Medium Cavalry LC = Light Cavalry
If I'm following this correctly, you have 1 Light Infantry figure on a 15 x 15mm base?
Does this mean you simply multiply up the bases sizes for multiple figures, to save having every figure on it's own base?
I'm thinking I probably need to see an army list to work out exactly what types of unit I've actually got, and therefore what bases sizes I need.
I bought the army with the original intention of playing Warmaster Ancients with it, which uses a standard base size (I think from memory this is 50 x 20mm). What type of unit simply determines how many figures are put on the base. 10 for melee infantry, 8 for missile infantry, 4 for cavalry, etc.
Given the speed I usually paint figures at I'm tempted to say that they'll be done by Christmas, but sometime in September is probably accurate.

FAC - Fully armoured cavalry or Cataphract? Perhaps Fully armoured Command?

Hi folks
Almost there.....
The rules suggest that `warband` would figt in a more loose order than clasic close order troops (such as roman)
HI = Heavy Infantry MI = Medium Infantry LMI = Loose order Medium infantry LHI = Loose order Heavy infantry LI = Light Infantry FAC = Fully armoured cav AC = Armoured Cavalry? HC = Heavy Cavalry MC = Medium Cavalry LC = Light Cavalry
You are correct abot the basing. The system was intended for 15mm figures where it would be possible to have odd individual figures. However i find that the majority of the time units stay in typical formations.
If i remember i will bring them along tomorrow.
Thanks
Brian

The majority of figures I've got are warband figures, mix of Swords and Spears with or without shields. I'm not sure how many of those there are any more, I did count them but that was easily 18 months ago when I bought them, but it's got to be between 100 and 200.
I've also got a small number of archers and slingers, some cavalry and about a dozen chariots.
I'm assuming that the warband will probably fall into the LMI category, with the archers and slingers being LI. I guess the celtic cavalry will either count as LC or MC.
Looks like I need to pick up some more Platicard sheets, as what I've got at the moment is a bit thin and bendy for basing miniatures on.
