Ronseal post peeps. Looking for a game for this coming Tuesday.
40k or Fantasy are both fine by me, or perhaps something else?

Hi Liam
With remarkable (or should I say my normal) lack of forward planning, I too have totally failed to organise anythinng for next week
40K is a no I'm afraid (I still haven't gotten my Tau put together), so Fantasy is looking likely
Alternately, if you fancy a little variety, I could bring my spaceships down and show you Full Thrust You won't need to bring anything for that - I can easily put two fleets on the table
Your choice, let me know what you want to do
Mike

If you're still up for it, I'd be interested in a game of Full Thrust, please ;-)

OK Liam - Full Thrust it is Makes for a nice change of pace from GW
Query: Have you played FT before? No problem if you haven't, just need to know how big a game to set up.

I've not played it but I own both rulebooks (Full Thrust and More Thrust) so I'd like to consider myself somewhat versed in the rules (and I'll be pulling them both out and giving them a quick reread tonight methinks).

Actually Liam, there there a few rules changes when the Fleet books were released so you'll need Fleet Book 1 (the human factions) for the correct rules. Not a problem though, you can download all the rule books in PDF format from here: www.groundzerogames.net/index.php?option=com_content&task=category§ionid=9&id=29&Itemid=50... and what's more, they're FREE -- they're such nice guys at Ground Zero Unlike a certain large games company of our acquaintance (mentioning no names), they've worked out that giving the rules away as a lose-leader encourages people to buy the figures So, if you're reading the rules it might serve you well to spend a few minutes downloading all the rule books Note: FT & MT are still valid - FB1 just supersedes some of the rules FB2 is just fleet definitions and special rules for the alien factions Happy reading, and I'll see you tomorrow night

I've got both Fleet Book 1 and 2, but I can't say that I can find my copy of Full Thrust itself... However, I'll download it and re-read it so hopefully I'll be up to speed by tomorrow night.

I've got FT & FB1 and downloads for all four books, so we've got the rules covered nicely
I also have about 8K or 9K points worth of ships - nominally ESU but none are standard definition (some less standard than others)
About half of those are GZG ships, the rest are a disperate collection of BFG and B5 ships stated up for FT, so I can easily put two reasonable sized fleets on the table
That being said, if you have any ships feel free to bring them along

The only ships I have are the ones I purchased Full Thrust for; the old Micro Machines Star Trek models/toys. I can bring down a large selection of them to make up numbers if necessary but we'd need to stat them up on the fly (or just use them as 'counts as') if we did, as I never got around to creating custom stats for them. On the plus side, they're all already painted ;D
I'd expect that we should get a small game in first to get me up to speed with rules before doing anything larger.

Painted?? I am impressed ;D
Bring 'em down if you like - doesn't take very long to stat a ship up once you know the system
Doesn't matter if you don't, I have plenty of ships

And there was me thinking you'd painted them yourself
I should've guessed I suppose ;D

It's not my fault; they come painted when you buy them from the shops...
