As stated in this post, there was a slight hiccup due to several existing bookings for the hall.

It is the 29th of August, and I'm thinking about running another Apocalypse game.
Having learned some lessons from the last Apocalypse game at the club, plus the Legendary Battles game, as well as the game I played in at Bedford, I'm looking at some rule changes from how we last played.
I'm thinking of having a 3,000 point limit per player, with perhaps 4 players a side, if enough people are interested.
3,000 points is plenty to allow people to field loads of their best stuff, without the amount of figures per player slowing the game down to much.
I may also look at having some specific objectives for both sides, whether that will work well or not rather depends on who wants to play and what they will be using.
If people are interested in taking part, can they let me know, and it would also be useful if they could indicate what army/armies they are thinking of using.

Any of the Flames of War players up for a Firestorm Campaign? We could start with the shorter of the two campaigns. I reckon we could get two turns worth done in an all dayer? Alex - if you have that Axis & Allies map of Normandy we could look at adapting it to a Normandy campaign - that would fit in with most peoples force selection.
I would be happy to go allies with my battered Yanks but if we are struggling for Axis players then I can roll out the Pz Grenadiers if need be.
Any takers???!

Roddy
I'm on holiday then but I'll let you have the map for Axis and Allies D-Day.
I've also got Axis and Allies Battle of the Bulge if you wanted the campaign to be a bit later.
Perhaps after Kelmarsh we'll sit down with one night and have a look at what we can put together.
Cheers Alex

Cool Andy, Panzer Lehr or maybe at a push Kampfgruppe Piper if we go Ardennes? I like the sound of Battle of the Bulge.
Yes I think if we sit down with the Firestorm box and maybe play through the Generals Wargame to get an idea of the mechanics of the campaign - apparently you can play through the wargame in a couple of hours. We would have to work out the Firestorm units based around what we can put together between us.
If we can get the campaign started prior to the all dayer we could use it to get through a few battles - Alex you could think of yourself as Rommel - away from the front at the critical time hoping your subordinates carry through your plans ;-)
We will have a chat about it tommorrow night no doubt. Andy - looking forward to meeting your new 'improved!!?' Panzer Company. My Armoured Company took out 4 tigers including Wittman on Sunday and still lost the game!!!!? but there were issues!
Cheers
Roddy

Sounds good, Panzer Lehr were around in the Ardennes too. Mind you, Piper was a panther commander, wasn't he? ;D
"Issues " with tigers !!!! sounds interesting.
