hi chaps,
just got a delivery of more stuff from warlords which includes Boadecia on her chariot and an ancient british warband.
who would like to paint these and i'll bring them next week.
also Steve, they sent me 4 BOXES of praetorians, do you need all of them for your scenario as i thought you said 2 were enough.
could you email me a list of what the roman force will actually have in it so i know what to paint and what can be left.
if we have anything left over (i.e. full boxes) i will ask Gareth at Warlords whether he wants them back or if the club can keep them.
if we keep them we could put them in the raffle this christmas, BUT, this is ONLY if THEY say we can keep them rather than returning them.
let me know asap, cheers

I haven't actually worked out a fully detailed army list yet for the scenario.
Mainly as I wasn't sure exactly what the Warlords were going to supply.
I know I worked out a rough list to make sure things were reasonably balanced in terms of figures. I believe I was operating on the assumption we'd be looking at a single unit of 20 Praetorians.
Can you let me know what we're already got in terms of Romans so I can work out exactly how many points what we have comes to.
But I can't see us wanting to use all those Praetorians (4 Boxes would be 80 figures right?).
The standard Imperial army list only allows you to field a single unit of Praetorians anyway, although we could possibly use another box as additional Veterans.

i will sort out a list of all the stuff i have and email it to you or PM via the forum.
will try and do it later.
we do have 2 boxes of veterans already (i think) but will confirm all later
i thought we asked for 2 boxes but as i said they sent us 4.
this is the third parcel they sent as the first two went 'missing'. warlords thinks someone at the post office is stealing their stuff as not just ours has gone walkabout.
there is a huge investigation at Lenton post office going on re this.
however, if the others turn up he said just keep them but they were sent 3 and 2 weeks ago so probably wont turn up now anyhow

in the Roman force we have as follows; P = Painted - U = Unpainted
Mounted gneral and foot commander - P 2 boxes Veterans - P 16 Balaeric slingers - P 16 Eastern Archers - P 10 Roman cavalry - P 19 Roman Auxillary Contubernium - P 3 boxes Legionaires - U 4 boxes Praetorians - U 1 Carroballista - U 1 set Optios command - U
these total £258.50 worth of donations by Warlords.
Steve; of the unpainted stuff what do you still need painting for the scenario.

I can save you a job here chaps. I have a unit of warlords Praetorians already to go. A lucky e-bay bid and they are painted to a pretty good standard. Might save you some work and you are more than welcome to borrow them. If you're interested I'll bring them next week so you can have a look. Andy
