i would like to suggest the following for future committee meetings
1. when a meeting is required, a post is put on the forum advising when the meeting is. preferably with 2 weeks notice.
2. an agenda is put into the post to advise members what topics etc will be discussed.
this will give members a chance to comment on the agenda and raise anything they need to under ' any other business .
once the meeting has been held, someone should post notes / minutes on what was discussed, and advise if any decisions have been made or if any voting is required.
an online poll could then be included for people to participate in.
as i say this is only a suggestion.
what do other members think??

Definately a scribe should be nominated at meetings and minutes taken down. As far as I am aware this has not been done and really should be done in future meetings - if necessary I will minute proceedings from now if nobody else comes forwarded.

i think that most of the points you suggest are good and do and could be helpful however i think the poll isnt such a good idear as members might not be fully aware of the effects of a desision as they can sometimes be quite complicated as well as making internal on the running and behind the scenes running of the club open to anyone who wanted to view the forum member or not

if you dont want it on the forum as it may be a sensitive issue, then the ins and outs of a vote should be put to the members via letter and asked to vote similarly to that voting for elections.
if it is complicated then it is up to the committee to ensure they are made aware of what a decision will do whichever way it goes and as a member i think i have the right to know what the committee is doing if it effects me personally as a member.
as i said, if this happens the other way it is a dictatorship scenario as we will be told what is going to happen, and are we not ALL equal at the club as we ALL pay our way each week.

corespondance by letter would be unsutable as members may raise questions about the issue being discussed that may require an answer before they are able to deside and so prolonging any desision if the membership is asked to vote on an issue the committee always makes sure that they are aware off all the consequenses we would not be doing our job if we did not i do not understand why you think we are not all equal at the club we are all members of the club the committee are members just like everyone else the committee members have been elected to run the club by the membership for the membership as well having the resposability of running it for them

how can we all be equal if some are deemed not able to make decisions and understand their implications, because they may be too complicated. i think that is somewhat unfair on the membership of the club to be honest. however i think the poll isnt such a good idear as members might not be fully aware of the effects of a desision as they can sometimes be quite complicated

the club is run acording to GCN guidelines as you know as all gcn clubs are it seems you wont be happy unless every member votes on every issue which does away practaly for the use of a committee therefore we would not be acceptable to the GCN charter which we have agreed to abide by can we please discus this matter by E-mail and not on the forum

thats not what i said and well you know it.
also, how can the club be run to gcn guidelines if rules are changed to suit those changing them.
perhaps following club rules first would be a start.
you know what i mean by this and that it is true. enough said, and i have sent you emails about this subject.
