I have got 5 x 75mm Shermans, 4 x M18s, 3 x M10's and 3 x Stuarts (if we can russell up another M10 and a couple of M20 utility vehicles) that gives us 1160 points worth.
I am sure that Alex has 4 or 5 shermans that could be used as yank. Also he has some M10's.
I think we are light on 76mm Shermans and the Yanks will need a few of those to stand a chance of stopping the Panthers & Tigers! A platoon of 5 would come in at 445 points - probably want two platoons.
How about putting in a really simplified ambush rule into the game - say the US roll a dice at the start of each turn and if a 5 or 6 is rolled they get to place a 57mm AT platoon in concealing terrain somewhere behind the lead German Tanks - gives the opportunity for some side armour shots! I think this could work really well if we are using a long thin table with the Germans charging along it to get to the fuel dump.
On the German side I have 3 Tigers and 4 Jadgpanzer IV's if needed.
I also have a nice little supply dump objective that could be the beginnings of a fuel dump - I am sure that I have a load of fuel barrells and bits and pieces - I will try and knock something up in the next couple of weeks and bring it down.

If you need some additional tanks I have 5 Sherman's and 5 Stuarts.
Admittedly they're painted up as Russians, but if necessary I'm prepared to let someone repaint them with American Markings.
I can always put back the Russian markings later on.

Stephen, Thanks for the offer, I'm sure we'll be in touch if we need them. Roddy, The ambush idea could solve all our issues. The teams are equal points, but the allies defensive! So if the germans start with all there points on the table and the allies have a couple of units (british reinforcements) come on in positions that are diced for (i.e. level or behind the germans) This might make it fairer and more interesting aswell as getting round the appearance of a few brits/poles etc. I'm looking to field a few of my panthers and 5x PzIV H's. I would like to take your offer up on some tigers or jagdpanzers. We're looking at 4 to 6 platoons depending on size and the tanks they are equipped with. I even have a jagdpanther that might get a lick of paint. Thoughts?

Boing, back to the top. Might need to push on again with this guys as Kelmarsh is rumbling towards us. This is not me trying to take control as I spend all my working life organising things and it's nice to take a back seat, but I do want to do my bit. So far Bulge - capture the fuel dump. 6'x6' table, snow 3000 pts a side with all german forces deployed on one table edge, count as moving. Suggested -approx 2000pts of Allied armour on table with approx 1000pts in reserve to be rolled for each turn to see what comes on and where. Platoon comes on with a 5 or 6, re-roll positioned at 1=defenders left hand corner, 2= half way down left side, 3= left side in attackers corner, 4, 5, 6,on right etc. This should give a few chances of side / rear shots. Allies may start dug in hidden etc. (Dave has some nice bunkers/revetments we might borrow? [not very subtle way of asking ]) OK jobs/ volunteers I'm happy organising a fair(ish) german tank division. Scenery, we need a fuel dump - Roddy are you on to this? What other scenery are we taking? Someone/ group to sort out allied armour! Time when we can all sit down to finalise the scenario to everyones satisfaction. Win/ loss conditions local rules etc. Any volunteers? Andy

More thoughts. KISS - keep it simple "stupid" For the sake of the punters it might be worth considering the following. No Tiger skills All tanks on each side are the same level, germans confident veteran, allied confident trained?
Turn limit to take and hold the dump: for the germans 6 resounding victory 8 victory 10 inconclusive 12 loss Stopped resounding loss (max 12 turns) This will need testing in the trial plays.

Did we decide on final army lists?
Could do with a break down of tanks being used for the Dummy sheets...

I'll type my list out tonight when I get home, but it has Tigers, Panthers and Pz IV H's (ignore the schurzen rule) and Jagdpanzer IV's from Carl if he's still happy lending them (or Roddy).

I'll paint up the bunker that Kevin made for me, this should look good near the entrance to the fuel dump ( for effect). I'm also going to do some barbed wire on a white base, that we could use where it suits.
p.s. I'll write out, print up and laminate the mission brief so that we can leave them around the table for the public to read.

Carl, The Pz IV's and the jagdpanzers would be a huge help.

The German list reads as follows: Panthers x5 (935) Tigers x3 (705) Jagdpanzer IV x4 (380) Panzer IV H x5 (475) Panzer IV H x5 (475) 2970 Command will either be 2 of the panthers attached to the other 3 as one platoon, or the same idea with one of the Pz IV platoons. This should save complexity and give us 5 similar platoons. It might end up split 6/4 with the panzerIV's as Carl is providing 4 and it would make sense to keep these together. Thanks to Carl (see posting above) for the PzIV's and jagdpanzers all this armour is ready and good to go as I've got the rest. The only exception is the other PzIV's which are assembled, undercoated and are next on my "to paint list". I've tried to keep the list fair and reflective of forces at the time. I'd have just brought 16 panthers otherwise ;D It gives the possibility of 5 punters joining in with a platoon each, or any lesser number with them I guess getting the tigers, panthers etc in turn. Any suggestions or comments? Andy

Excellent.
I'll do those ones now, and assume that the Yanks will be using Shermans (inc. 75mm), M18s, M10s & Stuarts.
Will also do a dummy guide for some anti tank, depending on who has what (Roddy?).
