After our now becoming traditional Heroquest end of year game, it seems prudent to present my gaming round-up of 2015
Total games played: 83
Games won: 46
Games Lost: 20
Games Drew: 17
Win/Game ratio: 55%
Win/Loss ratio: 70%
The number of games I played is down on last year, which was 98 games, but my win ratio has gone up significantly, with last years total games won being 48% and this being 55%. In fact, despite playing 15 less games I only won 1 less game this year.
83 games represents one game every 4.4 days, so a bit less than 2 a week
I played 14 different games this year (about half of what I played last year, against 28 different opponents, 6 more than 2014.
My most played game was (again) unsurprisingly Bolt Action with 24 games (13 wins, 8 losses, 3 draws), followed by Dead Mans Hand with 19 games(12 wins, 6 losses and 1 draw) and then Frostgrave on 7 games (5 wins, 2 losses)
My best win streak was 6 in a row, my worst losing streak was 2 in a row.
The stats below are based on playing at least 3 games of the game or against the opponent.
My most successful game was Twilight Struggle (again); 4 games played and 4 games won.
My least successful game was, oddly, Bolt Action, where I won only 54% of my games. Next worst result was Dead Man's hand on 62%.
My target of the year was Carl, who's 6s must have let him down this year. Of the 9 games we played as single opponents I won 7 and lost 2. This was closely followed by a tied place of Aron(10 games played, 7 wins and 3 losses) and Paul W (9 games played, 6 wins and 3 losses)
My Nemesis for the year was Henry with 3 games played and only 1 win to 2 losses.
My tournament record for this year was ok, not great. I attended 5 tournaments (4 BA and 1 Frostgrave), where I played 18 games in total, won 9, lost 7 and drew 2. My best showing was 4th, my worst was 2nd last.
It was my intention to do more outside tournaments this year and play more different people and I achieved that, I'm intending to do even more next year time and scheduling permitting.
Plans for next year include:
Our own BA tournament (probably May again)
The 2nd BA in-house league
A Frostgrave campaign day and/or league
Paul has mentioned doing a DMH league
Ribble Rumble and Welsh Open for BA (and whatever Sam comes up with as well)
Another great year, marred only by the lack of Kelmarsh. Looking forward to a fantastic 2016 for the Phoenix. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to everyone.
