There has been discussion of having an inter-club dayer sometime in the year. I feel it is time that we mixed it a bit with other clubs and forged new relationships as well as rekindle old ones.
Although not set in stone but just as an idea to start us off -
We could have four clubs battling it out over four genres.
For space etc - having doubles matches sound good.
We only needed two battle tables when we did the last xmas all dayer for the doubles tournie.
So I propose from each club:
x2 people for Warhammer Doubles Fantasy -2 tables
x2 people for Warhammer 40K Fantasy -2 tables
x1 person for Warhammer Fantasy singles -2 tables
x1 person for Warhammer 40K singles - 2 tables
x1 person for Warhammer Ancients -2 tables
x1 person for FoW. -2 tables
so far this would be 8 people per team, each genre tournie would effectively be round robins - ending up in a table of results. Points would be calculated for wins, draws etc. I'm not sure how you would work FoW into this, but I'm sure there is a way to do a FoW points conversion rate to GW stuff (just for this).
We would need a total of 12 tables (that's actually 24 table halves - do we have that many?)
If a few people wanted to put on WoW or something else that would be fine.
At the moment its a bit of a pie in the sky as there a number of pressing things to sort out first in regards to Kelmarsh etc..
Also logistically I would have to try and contact certain clubs.
Kieron talked about the Jersey Privateers. We could talk to Bedford Gladiators to see if there was any interest in them participating. Alex also mentioned a club in Sheffield?
Anyway that is the pie in the sky idea but to be honest talking about it and actually doing something about it are two totally different things. First I would like to gauge people's thoughts and interests in the matter.
Over to you....
