Very tempted - I hear good things of this rule set
I particularly like the scenario that requires the use of a chess clock I have heard so much about

I was seriously thinking of changing over too. I downloaded the rules earlier this week, they seem pretty good, some nice changes from whfb.

I believe I did have a game of this with Kieron many moons ago. It was quite good. Although following new rules has been a bane for me - this was quite easy to pick up. However not really impressed with the regeneration and shambling rules for undead. It just means that your opponent will bring fire based attacks against your regeneration and basically you end up with an army that will crumble to bits. With WFB this was just for one round, here its for the rest of the battle that you lose it for that unit. Still trying to think of the mechanics for that but apparently if one of the models is affected this way in a 50 strong unit, that unit loses the rule forever. Wow it must mean that they are covered in some sort of oil and are all flammable as well. Have to read more before passing serious comments.
I will be looking at this as Jon says more seriously if WFB do not have a proper non-skirmish battle in the offering. However it will not stop me from playing 8th edition still.

The Kings of War second edition is out on the 10th Sept, as a free download.
Glad to hear you're still up for playing 8th ed, Warren. I was feeling a bit gutted that I might not be able to use my WE book, having only used it about three times...not to mention my araknarok spider!☺

Not a Warhams player but having read the AoS rules briefly and some of the warscrolls....ugh, I feel sad for vet Warham players
Literally rules along the lines of: "if you roar before rolling to hit dice you get to reroll misses" and " if you dance while rolling dice you get to reroll misses, if you can entice your opponent to dance you also get to reroll failed wounds"
I am not even joking.

With one of the Empire characters you apparently get a bonus if you have a more impressive moustache than your opponent...hmm

I'm honestly waiting for the "April Fools" sorry we're a couple months late.
I almost liked it till I started reading in detail. Wished I just kept with the skim read.

The more ridiculous jokey stuff isn't the norm as far as I can tell, but it does threaten to cheapen the whole thing...

Its this one that has the onli e community up in arms
"The Gift of Tongues: At the start of the combat phase, Wulfrik can issue an indelicate challenge in his foe’s tongue if there is an enemy Hero within 3". Issue your opponent with a challenge of your own – you can be as mocking, rude or insulting as you dare; if your opponent rises to the bait and they change expression, even so much as crack a smile or a glimmer of shock, Wulfrik’s challenge is successful and you can re-roll failed hit rolls for any attacks he makes this phase against enemy Heroes."
or as someone else said "Unexpected and innapropriate racial slurs: the game"

You could of course keep playing WHFB as is.

Which im sure 90% of players will, however the sad fact is that as games become unsupported the player base eventually dies away. There are exceptions of course but as a rule its pretty solid.
Unlike GWs rules, HEY-OHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Julie and I have been having a field day. .. We found a big field... Went to the middle of it... And screamed "why??" Clearly we are not happy. Although the rules state any bases can be used and there is no point system.
As I said... There is no point!
