NEWBIE Hi guys. I am new the club, so I thought I would post a simple introduction. Most importantly the games I play. They are : Squad leader : 1/300 micro tanks both ww2 and modern : 10mm ancients : ww2 naval : gothic : 15mm fantasy (my rules variation of wfb v2) : Napoleonic naval : Colonial (Zulus and dervish) : Babylon 5 : wings of war : and several board games too old to mention. I will play almost anything that is fun, I am always happy to teach anyone interested in trying something new. If anyone is interested in a game just drop me a line. I will try to get to the club most weeks work permitting. Thanks Brian

hi Brian; nice to hear from you.
thats a nice variation of stuff, most of which we currently dont do, BUT, we are always up to try new things. i wouldn't mind a go at the Nap Naval at some point.
we do wings of war and will be starting an informal (drop in - drop out) league on the first meeting of each month starting 3rd feb. i'm sure you'd be more than welcome to join in. a couple of the guys have quite a lot of planes models but you can obviously bring your own.
we also do the odd boardgame and card ones, although mostly card games are a fill in at the end(ish) of a meeting if figure gaming has finished early.
please feel free to come and say hi next week (i will be playing an ACW game), my name is Carl, and we'll try to sort out a night for a naval game if thats ok (my next free night will be the 17th feb as i tend to book a couple of weeks in advance etc). we may even be able to rope in some more guys to do the naval game if thats alright with you.
i have just purchased a 1/1200th scale HMS Victory from Langton Miniatures. what scale is your stuff by the way?
let me know if you are down next week and i'll bring it along.
cheers for now

Sounds interesting, Big fan of wings of war. Would like to try the naval napoleonics. Have no idea about, but loved the series' and would fancy a go at Bab 5.
Sorry, Andy, and I was playing warhammer fantasy on Tues, so missed out on meeting you.

Hi Carl
Thanks for the kind words. Nap naval i do in 1:1200 scale using Action under sail rules. These rules are about 10 years or more old. A friend of mine was shopping yesterday and suggested he could get a new revised copy, but i have not had a reply yet. I will bring down my fleets and the rules for next week. Wings of war : i am putting the final toutches to a campaign. A friend of mine put together a campaign, very good idea, but i felt it was too realistic, and therefore lacked play balance. I have modified it to be a little more playable, i just need to detail out some variation in the victory conditions for the missions.
See you tuesday
Brian

Hi Andy
I think i have covered the napo naval and the WoW in my reply to Carl.
Babylon 5 is VERY similar to gothic however the ships look a lot better (lol). Let me know when you are free and we will have to arrange a game.
Thanks Brian

Hi again Brian, I'm working late next Tuesday, so will be at the club, but not in time to play most games. It might be a good idea to have a chat with Liam and I about the WoW campaign. Liam had the idea for one and I've been helping out. If you have a look in the Historical section there is posting on the suggestions so far. I'm sure your input would be appreciated. We both have a squadron or two of planes to use! The planned start date is the week after next. Look forward to chatting.

I'd enjoy having a look at the Napoleonic Naval game as well. It'll probably just be a look unfortunately as I'm fully booked up with games for the four or five weeks.
The Babylon 5 game is supposed to be really good, I nearly bought some ships about six to nine months ago, but elected to pick up some Warmachine stuff instead.

Hi Brian
Always good to meet a new member
All of that sounds like good fun, although I've never played most of it - but on the try-anything-once principle I'm up for any or all of it
Definately up for the Napoleonic naval - time to teach those Frenchies who rules the waves once and for all
I have Full Thrust and an awful lot of ships for it (some of which are Babylon 5), which comes out every so often (well, once in blue moon anyway). I don't know how close this is to the Babylon 5 system as I've never played that one.
As it happens, I don't have a game organised for this Tuesday (numpty that I am, I haven't gotten around to organising one - again), so if you like I could bring that along for you to try out (it's well overdue time it had an outing). Or, if you prefer, bring Babylon 5 along and we'll give that a go.
Look forward to seeing you
Mike

Hi Brian, welcome to the club - I'm Warren. I see from your opening post that you do colonial. Julie (my wife) and I have ideas even now for Kelmarsh next year to do a zulu attack on some outnumbered redcoats and Boer allies - similar to Rorkes Drift. Can I ask if that is 28mm or 15mm that you play for the zulus?

"don't throw those bloody spears, at me", sorry developed a Michael Caine typo there. you could use the boer stuff we had last year and re-paint if its any help. also, check out www.warmodelling.co.uk they do 15mm starter deals that are absolute bargains.

Hi Mike
I am happy to bring down my B5 stuff, we can then play either B5 or full thrust or both (but not at the same time, as this could burn out my few remaining brain cells).
Hi Warren
My zulus are 15mm. based up for `Battles for Empire`
Hi darrell
Look forward to having a chat on tuesday
