Ok 2009 is here. Here is a good opportunity for you all to submit plans for campaigns, tournaments, etc for this year. David has already considered a fantasy campaign with Chaos armies vs all and sundrie. Sounds great and at last I can play in it. I would need a written proposal and background etc about it before hand though. You must also state when you propose to do this bearing in mind the GW tournies and Kelmarsh this year. I did talk about the Young Phoenix rebirths having a 40K tournament - just for the Under 16s. Someone would have to deal with that one as my gaming knowledge of 40K is not brill (just like my fantasy - there beat you to it! ha!). A 40K tournament for the adults and also another SFS for the end of next year which could be substituted for David's Campaign idea? Someone has a FoW league Idea and someone else was thinking of a WoW league. If people can get these on paper with approximate dates then I can work out this year's calendar and slot them into a time frame. However we do know that the commitments of others to other gaming systems can get in the way - so a rough idea of start and completion would be nice. ;D

SFS stands for simon freshwater - sturgess a member of the club who was a regular member 3 or 4 years ago who sadly died last year so the club decided to name a trophy in his memory

well as far as leauges go i would like to see the boards we got from gamesday a couple of years ago used. i am not sure about an under 16 tournament becouse i am not sure we have enough members to make it viable i think a 40k tournament along the lines of the sfs would be good as well as a flames of war leauge / tournament would go down well other games such asa bloodbowl and wings of war would also be good to see. i would be prepared to organdise a 40k tournament and bloodbowl if there is enough interest

steve has the 40k board and i have the fantasy one. if someone wants to run a ladder league for fantasy i will bring the board in.
i think Andy has already planned the wings of war league to start the first week of february.
perhaps we should ask the younger members if they want a league or not and if yes, ask for some commitment from them to participate etc.
we also need to sort a way of doing the ranking system or something similar again this year as we have the two player of the year trophies.

I think Liam and I had hatched a plan for a Wings of war campaign. Hopefully on the first meeting of each month, starting in Feb. We'll drop you something in writing very soon.
