after speaking to GW today the tickets WILL NOT be on sale until Jan 2009 earliest due to a delay at their printers and they are not allowed to sell them until they actually have them.
in the current issue of white dwarf it says they are on sale now but this was printed before the problem becam known
on a similar note, who is actually going?
the dates are 18th and 19th April.
i would like to go and use my Ogres this year.
perhaps we need to sort out who is going and then sort out who is pairing up with whom

I'm considering going to the WFB doubles if I can find a partner from the club, as my work load will have eased up by then and I reckon I can spare the time to attend. I may even have the time to actually paint my models ;D
I'll probably take my Daemons, but I don't mind who I'm paired with.

I'd like to go.
Not to fussed as to what exactly I use, I have a variety of armies to pick from after all.
Assembling a doubles force isn't a bad way of starting a new army out either.
Daemons is quite tempting to be honest, as I already have a core of models to build on. Horrors, Flamers, Fiends, plus several models that would make fairly good heralds.

Steve I have just had a conversation with Carl and he will be teaming up with Julie - now all I have to do is find a partner. I have wood elves, Empire, VC, O&G to choose from so if you wanted to pair up let me know what you want to play with - I could always use Julie's dwarves as well. However - all these put a nail in the coffin (no pun intended) for teaming up with Daemons. Anyway the doubles tournie will probably have 50-60% daemon double armies which will be dull - but on the otherhand most of them will be beating each other up. What say you?

I don't actually mind what I play, and am willing to buy stuff to get a decent combo.
With the stuff I'm ordering from Wayland I've basically got three Warhammer armies. Warriors of Chaos, Dwarfs and Skaven. But I also have bits of Empire, Ogres, Vampires, Daemons, Beasts of Chaos and Orc and Goblin armies. Probably not quite enough of any of those to do a full 750 points, but enough to have a start.
It might be worth sitting down and trying to work out what would make a good combination out of the various armies we have between us and then go from there. Between us we've almost got something for nearly every army between the two of us.

As I know vamps very well how about vamp and vamp? However I have got some wood elves - er loads all unpainted but 750pts could be done before then - it would give me the incentive to do them. This includes treeman, dryads, glade guard (scouts), glade riders, waywatchers, wardancers (stacks), wild riders and quite a few heroes.

I'd be quite tempted to do Wood Elves and something, it would be a matter of working out what combination would complement that nicely.

Given the other armies we already have that would probably be Empire or Dwarfs I guess. Either way that sounds like a mainly shooting contingent to support a skirmishing close assault Wood Elf force.
Although the thought of a Steam Tank supported by Dryads, Wild Riders and War Dancers also sounds amusing.

Do you have a stank as I don't? I think that sounds awesome. If you have one then great! I really would like to do the wood elves so that I have the excuse in painting at least some of them.
However I do have Blood knights in the VC army - (tad expensive and very much a missile magnet!). When they hit they are devastating!

I don't, I was assuming you did, pity.
Trouble with VC's is what to do with them other than battle brothers, Skaven/VC is a possibility, but not sure how well that would work. My current VC contingent is 1 foot Vampire, 1 Necromancer, 3 Wight Models, plus 20 Zombies and 20 Skeletons, 2 Dire Wolves and 3 Ghouls. Most of which is unpainted.

Doesn't look like Wayland actually sell the Steam Tank.
I can send them an email and ask if you want. At their typical discount policy you'd be looking at £30 rather than £40, plus a 6.5% discount on top of that. Which would take the price down to £28.05.
