The Warhammer Ancient Battles tournament (Axes 2013) will be held on Saturday 17th August. Further details to follow.
This year in an effort to make information available earlier than last year the rules pack for Axes 2013 has been split into four documents
1) Army Selection - lets you know what is available 2) Tournament Rules - the rules that hold the event together 3) Scenario Pack - the games that make up the event 4) Axes 2013 FAQs & Clarifications - answers to various things that crop up that don't belong in other documents.
These will be posted in this thread in PDF format when they become available. The last document will, by its nature, be finalised in late July / early August

Forget what I said in the other thread the lists are here. If you wish I can dropbox these for you to make them more accessible to people (as I have done with the Rumble ones). Just give me the nod and I'll do it.

Sorry Carl - maybe next year.
This time frame was chosen as after asking a questions at last year's event But I do think we need to run an Axes event using the later lists to be give those people who prefer that period a chance to play.
We'll have to talk sometime ( and may be try a few test games) to see what time frame this would be

Actually its going to take Julie that long to get her War of the Roses army together if your going that far. I'm not sure if to go teutonic or Swiss pike.

Just quick question about Dacians - are they not allied with Sarmatians (can they use their cav is what I am asking essentially)? Warlords have them as such, although I guess that Hail Caesar run on totally different army lists.

The Dacians can have the Sarmatian Allies that are an intrinsic part of their list.
When I looked at restrictions on allies I was looking for those where you had to refer to another list rather than those allies that were part of the list.
I'll review the lists we're using for similar situations and make it clearer which intrinsic allies can be used.

Army Selection 02 Here is a revised version of the Army Selection document. Just minor changes - adding / clarrifying allies to 3 armies as noted in the document itself. As a general clarrification Units that are listed within a section of the list (unless that Section is Allies or Allies and Mercenaries) are not considered Allies regardless of the units name / description. ExampleThe Huns in the Light Cavalry Section of the Sassanid list are not allies but a basic unit of the army itself. Other examples include Cretan Archers, Baleric, Germaic Cavalry, Balearic Slingers etc. Their is one know error in the document (that's the problem you get when trying to x-check errata with the original lists and get the list out quickly) The Later Republican Romans: Pergamene should be listed as allied for the earlier army not the later, and the later one should have Numidians plus the same wording as that under allies in the Galatian list (i.e. peltasts and skirmishers only from the Twilight list). I will be amending the Army Selection 02 once I have checked errata / lists again. Attachments:
