I'm planning on running a Return to Ravnica draft next week on the 16/10/2012.
I've got an unopened booster box of Return to Ravnica cards, so I'll be providing all the cards for the draft. People just need to turn up to play.
Anyone's welcome to join in, whether you're experienced at magic or not. Draftings good fun, and it's a good way to get to know how to play the game without having to have any cards of your own.
I've got enough cards to support up to a dozen players. So if you want to have a go let me know.

I haven't got anything fixed up for myself yet so it might be interesting.. . . . What a draft?

A draft is basically a process where you pick (draft) cards out of booster packs and then build a deck out of just the cards you've drafted (plus basic lands).
The way it works is as follows
Everyone has three booster packs. You open your first pack, then pick one card out of the pack and put it aside. You then pass the remaining cards in the pack to the person on your right, and will receive cards from the person on your left. You then pick one card from those cards, and then pass the remaining cards on. This continues until all of the cards in the first booster packs have been picked. You then open the second booster pack, pick one card and pass the remainder on to the left this time. For the third pack you then go back to the right.
Once you're done with all three booster packs you'll have a pile of 42 cards in front of you. You then have to build a minimum 40 card deck using only those cards and basic lands. We'll then play a bunch of one on one games using those decks.
The fun thing about a draft is rather than just opening some boosters and trying to build a deck out of those cards, you get to pick the cards that are potentially going to go into your deck. It gives you more control over what cards you have to chose from to make up your deck. Since you know what you picked previously you can try and ensure that most of the cards you take are in just a few colours, making it easier to build a deck. You can also pick out cards that while they aren't great on their own, work well with cards you've already taken.
The picking process is fun in itself, as each time you get passed some cards you've got to work out what the best card to take is. Also trying to build a workable deck out of the cards you've selected is a interesting challange compared to just building a deck out of all the cards you own. Also with a draft it tends to keep the decks mostly at the same kind of power level, as everyone has a limited pool of cards to build from, so you don't have the issue of someone putting together a super powerful deck consisting of all the most expensive cards, playing against someone else whose got a deck made of mostly commons.

I've never heard of anything like that before. Certainly sounds entertaining and interesting. If you've still got room then please put me down.
