So here is my completed Saxon army from the thread a few months ago. It is finally all built, bought and based ready for axes.
Eorl to lead army and Thegns 1(converted from Thegns box) Ealdorman BSB to lead Thegns 2 (from renegade command pack) Ealdorman to lead Ceorls 1 (converted from Thegns/ceorls box) Ealdorman to lead Ceorls 2 (from renegade command pack) Ealdorman mounted to lead mounted Thegns (converted from Riders of Rohan) 7 mounted Thegns (converted from Riders of Rohan) 20 Thegns 1 (from gripping beast Thegns box) 21 Thegns (from gripping beast Thegns box) 28 Ceorls 1 (from fryrd box) 28 Ceorls 2 (from fryrd box) 8 Geburs with bows (from fyrd box) 10 Geburs with slings (from renegade metal blisters) 10 Vikings (metal griping beast blisters and renegade)
Costs (prices include p&p) Thegns box £11.50 eBay Fyrd box £13.00 eBay x2 total £26.00 Riders of Rohan - free from own collection Renegade slinger blister £ 8.00 Renegade command blister£8.00 Gripping beast Viking blisters x2 £7.50/15.00
Grand total £68.50. Bargain.
Could have been cheaper as another box of plastics could have built all the Vikings, slingers and command models for about 15.00 instead of 31.00.
Warning though build time was epic. the fastest, and I think nicest models, were the riders of Rohan and metal figures, guess you get what you pay for there.

All i did was cut off the slung bows and fill the cloaks with green stuff - I also swapped the heads for spares from my gripping beast saxon plastics. Where the armour was wrong I painted it as leather rather than scale mail.
Hope that helps.
