Yet to have a punt on the plastics above - next month they top my shopping list. I have however won 3 skytrex command decision shermans unbuilt for a tenner inc postage on ebay and they built up quite nicely and look fine alongside flames shermans - although as they are 100% white metal castings tehy are quite weighty!

I too have a few command decision vehicles in my mix, including 3 of the Sherman Crabs and some AV'sRE with fascine rolls.....I know what you mean about the weight! I could always sell them for scrap if I fall on hard times (or should I say harder times!). :-)

Yep I reckon all miniature wargamers could have quite a retirement fund of scrap metal if they buy from companies like skytrex - have to admit I still prefer metal figures to plastic but not the price!

Wargames Factory suggest that they will do 28mm plastic tanks for their ww2 range.

Plastic soldier company review
Only ever heared really good things about the sclupts and castings. Many flames players have a few of these - although Battlefront are getting a bit touchy re the subject.

always will be companies that jump onto a particular 'bandwagon' re scale and periods and no-one can do anything about it as you cant really patent ww2 stuff or any other actual historical period.
GW probably don't like the fact that an ex employee owns and runs Mantic and people buy that to play fantasy and 40k.
just goes to show that if the companies like GW didn't put up their prices every year 'simply because its' that time again' then they wouldn't have lost so many customers to Mantic.
the same may be true of Battlefront and Forged in Battle and more recently Plastic Soldier Company in so much as they are doing cheaper versions of the same range as Battlefront, but that is the nature of the beast in all walks of life.
more companies in competition means better deals for us as wargamers but may run the risk of overload and companies going under, but again that is also a risk any business must face up to when it starts out.

I talked to the PSC guy about 28mm tanks and Hannomags at Derby as I do at every show I see him at. Like last time he promised me that there are plans to do them at some point, just not right now...
I also tried to plant the idea of 28mm in the head of the Armourfast guy but unfortunately I was rudely interrupted by some fat smelly git who butted into my conversation mid sentence to talk about some online game called World of Tanks. Something to do with how some of the renders weren't accurate. Nothing to do with what I was talking about and the AF guy was pretty clueless as well as the only connection seemed to be that he had some of the same types of tanks, but he wouldn't shut up so I left them to it. I swear the stereotype of the gamer with no personal hygiene or social graces has definite basis in fact.

Well if enough people manage to badger him about it without being interrupted he might change his mind ;D
