A few quick questions on Flames of War, just out of curiosity nothing more. ;D
I believe that F.O.W is a points based game so;
For a typical game how many points would I need?
Is there a Finnish list / source book for all three time periods (early / middle /late)?
Cheers

Yes to all your qs although I think the Finnish lists and model ranges are limited. Points seem to work from about 750 for a skirmish up to a decent nights game at about 1500-1750 based on my observations around the club.

And to expand on my questions
what book(s) would I be looking at for the Finns?
approximately how many models are we talking about?
Cheers

I don't believe there is a book for the Finns, simply some pdfs that give you the unit charts for their organisation. Don't know exactly what periods it covers, but would expect Late War, but also possibly mid war as well.
I wouldn't like to comment to much on the number of models, as it very much depends on exactly what unit types you can take. I'd expect the list to be an Infantry one, but wouldn't expect you to need that many bases of stuff, as the Finns ought to be a small elite force, similar to most German infantry forces (say 3 to 6 bases per unit).
In terms of points. 1,500 is a reasonable size for an evenings game, although ideally you want a bit more points to allow some flexibility in unit choices. As you can find you've spent some 1,200 points on your HQ and basic stuff with some forces, which doesn't leave you with much left for extras.

Again not my field but I think the only lists are those in the new(ish) Grey Wolf source book for FoW.

think lots of games now are 1750pts
plus you might need more models than for other armies as as you well know
'FINNS aint what they used to be'
