Following Darrell's sudden resignation we need to elect a new Chairman.
The date of the election has yet to be decided, but while waiting for that I have set up this thread for people to put themselves forward for the post.
Any paid up member, in good standing, aged 18 or over may nominate themselves for the post. No experience is required and if you are unsure of the role please see the club constitution on this Forum.
Once we have an election date I will post notice here that we are closing nominations (allowing time for late entries) and then we will conduct a secret ballot in the same way we did for the committee elections last December.
If you have any questions please contact either myself or any other committee member.

Not sure what has happened but this seems a good time to thank ALL the committee members and long standing club members for their commitment - the club has grown a lot in recent years and would not be there at all without all your graft behind the scenes. I have been around a while now but my attendance is pretty intermittent due to the demands of school and family so I really appreciate those of you with a better attendance and graft record! Hopefully somebody else with the drive and time can now add to this tradition and breath yet more life into the Phoenix.

It has now been well over a month since nominations for post of Chairman were sought.
Having given this much consideration I have decided to stand for the Chairmans post for this calandar year, i.e. until the next normal election cycle.
I believe it is important for this matter to be resolved and humbly believe I can add value to this role.
I would therefore ask that you consider my request to stand as Chairman and advise me of the due process for election.
My fundamental view point is we are a club who enjoy all genres of wargaming and board gaming with a long club history and tradition. We have excellent committee members who have safeguarded the club to ensure we have a solid home and a long and heathly future.
many thanks

Nominations for the post of Chairman will close at 23:59 on Saturday 14th April.
This will allow time for a vote (assuming we get another candidate) on the 17th and mean we have a new Chairman in time for both Salute and the GCN AGM.
