guys
this year at Salute, Saturday 21st April, the club is going to be running tables for two companies, namely Warlord Games and Steve Barber Models.
the Warlord game will be pike and shot era, i.e ECW or THW and the Steve Barber table is a Jason & the Argonauts themed game
Warren is organising the Jason table, whilst i am sorting the Warlord one.
If you would like to put yourself forward for either game, please let us know via this thread.
there are six places on each table and at the mo there are the following confirmed for each;
Pike and Shot
Carl, Paul, James, Martin, Kieron,
The above are confirmed as we are also play testing the new rules which will be previewed at Salute on this table. So this leaves one place.
Jason & the Argonauts
Warren, Julie, Darrell, Michael
Warren and Julie are both making the table and writing the rules
The earlier you put your name forward the better.
You will get free entry into Salute, normally £11, but if you get a lift to the event with someone, you will be expected to chip in a small amount to cover petrol and car parking, normally woring on a basis of £5 for petrol and £3 for car parking (as it is £15 per car for the day), this is per person, but is at the discretion of the driver, and should be paid to them if required by the Tuesday club meet prior to the event, i.e. 17th April.
the cost though depends on the amount of people per car

I have received the letter for Salute with Badges for the Jason and the Argonauts table as well as the Vehicle Pass slip to identify us to vehicle marshals etc, although this is not a free car park pass. I am not going to fill the vehicle pass slip as yet as I'm waiting on decisions to be made about who is driving and if arrangements are to be made about scenery to get more people in cars. We won't have to pay for congection charges as you shouldn't be driving in those areas to get there and also its charged Monday to Friday. However I am unsure of the Low Emisions Zone as EXcel is in this and there was a note to that effect in the letter. I've tried checking if we had to pay if so how much and to whom and when but its seems too gobbledigook when looking at the www.tfl.gov.uk site (see what I did there?) Practise for two scenarios will be on Tuesday week so please keep this free those that are on the tables. Mike is on board with this however Darrell if you do have another game booked could you please ensure that you take a break from it for 10 mins to view the tweaks for the harpy scenario. The Talos one has not been tweaked for game play - just the number of argonauts allowed and the characters here. This is so a good number of models are spread across tables to allow simultaneous games. So far: Scenario 1 - Talos - Jason, Acastus, Phalerus, Spyros, Hercules and Hylas plus 20 argonauts have washe up on this beach - others are on different coves and beaches... Scenario 2 - Capture the Harpies - Jason, Acastus, Argus, Polydeuces and Euphemus plus 12 argonauts will be present the others will be guarding the boat. Scenario 3 - Into the Hydras Den! - Jason, Medea, primarily Argus, Phalerus, and Castor plus d6 Argonauts will join. King Aeetes plus 14 Colchian guards follow later. We presume that the traitor Acastus has been killed already and is inside the hydra's stomach! Scenario 4 - Children of the Hydra's teeth - Jason, Medea, Argus, Phalerus, Castor and D6 argonauts. King Aeetes plus 14 Colchian guards and up to 10 skeletons. When travelling down do we go M1 or M11? Seems that both on googlemap directions are about the same - the later doesn't make you go through most of London though!

From Luton I travel M1, M25, M11 - if that's any help.
There is NO good way M25 can be a pest and M11 can get really slow round Stanstead .
