The chaps from Battle-Force Pompey now known as The Pompey Pirates are holding a rather good WAB tournament in Portsmouth July 21-22 2012. Full details here wabforum.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=10372However the date may quite awkward as it very close to the time that we are usually at Kelmarsh. Obviously Kelmarsh takes precedent - which is also a little unfortunate. However I will not be able to go as it is my eldest 16th birthday on the 21st and I doubt I would get away with swanning around in Portsmouth chucking dice - much to my disappointment. For others that may be interested we would have to wait for the Kelmarsh dates and if in fact we get the invite.

They came to the Axes and Axis event last year - so i guess that's about the same trek.

I looked at the link at the idea is interesting, if going to require large armies. Sadly no indication of period/armies so I can't decide if I might go yet - will have to look again when there are more details

They did give year dates if I am not mistaken. Something like 450BC to 750AD???

Hi Warren and Co. Thanks for starting the post. I wasn't planning to start it until January when we expect to release full details of the event. There's also WFB and 40k for those who like " that kind of thing". The 3000pt game idea is just for the sake of doing something different. I started the thread on the WAB forum to get advice and gauge interest - not many comments yet - but all positive. Any questions or thoughts, just let me know - dave.p2@virginmedia.com It will be a shame if it clashes with Kelmarsh, but if we don't see you at the Pillage, at least 2 of us should be coming up to your event again. For those concerned about the distance it's a 2 1/2 hour journey. Clocks don't have to be reset, passports are no longer required, jabs depend upon how much you like sailors.
Hey Warren. If you buy an army for your daughter at Christmas, she'll have 7 months to paint it and practice before the Pillage. You then have the perfect excuse for familial bonding at a competition on her birthday. How cool would that be !

thing is Dave, if Warren buys his daughter an army it's just another potential person to lose to.
(OK fair's fair - his track record is good, he's finished higher than me in both Axes & Axis events - but why let the truth get in the way of a good joke ;D )

Your right - my daughter would probably whoop you at WAB, and I'm not on about the eldest. The younger one has a more mathematical brain and actually gets it!

Hi all. Good to see that your Kelmarsh event doesn't clash with our Pillage after all. Perhaps we'll see a few of you down here ?
Cheers, Dave
