Ok this is for the 12th February 2012 which is a Sunday. I will need the sand terrain roll ups for this (x2). I take it that Stephen and Darrell are going also. As Julie and I will be going up we do have room for 2 more in the car. So if anybody wishes a lift - and chip in for petrol I will pick you up (or we could work out some other arrangement, park your car outside my house in my car park space etc...). I believe that we are allowed up to 6 people on our Jason and the Argonauts participation table - 4 places have been taken, who else wants to take the last two. We get..... quoting here "Car parking is free and plentiful. But obviously the earlier you > arrive, the closer to the venue you can get! > We expect the venue to be open for around 7am (so between 7.30 and 9.30 > am would be fine). We start easing down around 3.30pm, after the > draws. > > We will provide you with a free drink, tea, coffee or can before the > show opens. > > There will be dining and bar facilities..." so that sounds good check out the website www.hammerhead.org.uk/exhibitinggames.html

what are you using to split the table into four sections mate

Hopefully we only need a three way split and this will be done with terrain - cliff edges etc... Did you have something in mind?
While I'm here I have spoken to Dave about our Banner and he said this would be ok to put up at Hammerhead. I have also nabbed a display board for us so if anybody has any Club paraphenalia etc I would advise that you bring it down. I will put up a sort of ditty about our game also. It would be a good idea for someone to make a club booklet - who we are, what we do, where we are, contact, what we play and our credentials - Kelmarsh, Salute Hammerhead, Gamesday, Slayer Day, Axes and Axis, The Rushden Rumble etc.... With a few puzzles and jokes in it this may be a good advert for our club. I'm way too busy to do this so if anyone wants to get this done or has an alternative idea then let me know.

i thought you were going to print off 'scenic' A4 landscapes pics and then separate the sections that way but either is good
how big is the board mate. what about printing off some pics of Kelmarsh, the Rumble, Axes etc.
booklet could be good idea but i did an A5 one last year for Kelmarsh and took ages to do to get just right.

I was going to go the scenic route however as I see things before they happen (mostly) I could see these toppling over without supports and it would then start looking untidy. How does one camouflage seperation - with camouflage!
Board is 6ft by 7.5 ft - that's the size I've got simply because the tables are 6ft by 2.5 ft. The same for Salute as well. I will be in on the 24th for a game with Simon - and I wondered if you wanted to give the tree and the end of the world with Golden fleece a bash for painting? It just looks a little fiddly to put together but nought much to worry about. I'm slowly going through the argonauts which is a grind.
Whatever we print off we will need to get them laminated. What about your booklet that you did last year - is it still feasible for this year - give or take a few additions?

can do the tree for you mate, no probs.
what about photos for the board with a bit about the club in the middle and the photos eminatiing outwards from that.
not really interested in resurrecting the booklet at the mo mate.

Went quite well today although the game does need more hands on the table. I am going to abandon the idea of going from one bit to the other as it can take a bit of time to go all the way through. Instead we will have seperate bits and anybody wishing to do any of the scenarios at any time will be fine. Trouble is I will probably have to have several models of each hero to make this work as proxys today were a little off.
Most of the scenarios went well except for the harpy one which I will tweak again. The problem with this is finding the fine balance for it being too hard or too easy - there doesn't seem to be a middle ground at the moment but I'm working on it. I'm glad I did this at Hammerhead as it did show the need for rethinking. All the other scenarios worked a charm and were real easy to follow.

glad it went well, however,
if you are going to do all the bits at once then you will def need more people to help, and you need to ask Steve Barber how many free passes he is getting you as any more bods than passes they will have to pay to get in.
also, dont forget the idea you agreed with him was that if anyone went from start to finish they would get a prize so you will be changing what you told / agreed with him, and you need to check he is ok with that too.
if its taking too long then change it by making it quicker.
i would take out the magic phase as there wasn't any in the film and Steve may also not like this element. make it easier to kill Talos if you need to but only slightly.
make it slightly easier to get from one bit too the next, and if you cut down on the amount of argonauts and simply have them spread out into each 'zone' this will negate the need to keep moving them along from zone to zone each time and if someone is in zone three and you get new people wanting to play then the other models can be used to start a 'new' game whilst the other is still going so you have a constant merry go round effect in play.
it will also look good if talos and the argonauts are in one section together even if theres no-one playing in it, sort of a scenic set up to lure more players onto the table
this will also attract other players to the table and maybe give Steve some extra custom, which is the reason he is doing this with us after all, and for us as a club too show off the models and ourselves etc.
you wont get many people staying more than 30 minutes or so if you are lucky and at best an hour so it needs to be quick to keep them interested
ring for a chat if you want mate
