Hi,
Hope I'm posting in the right section. I am fairly new to FOW and have been painting up a few forces : nearly 1500 points of LW US Rifle Company, a couple of platoons of LW German Armoured Panzer Grenadiers and have just started a British 7th Armoured Div Cromwell company - should really try an concentrate on finishing one!
Anyway do you guys play much FOW? Like I said I'm new to the game but keen to get my guys into action rather than gathering dust on the shelf! Would be great to organise a game or two and hopefully get a few pointers in the game.
NB I am not a member of the club but would be happy to join if there are some regular Flames of War Games.
Cheers
Roddy

hi Roddy; we do now have five flames of war players. 2 of which have full armies, 2 are very close to fielding 1500pts and 1 who is still collecting. we also have at least 1 other who is looking into buying something. we are starting to get more regular games of FOW going at the club and in the early part of 2009 i am looking to do a FOW campaign / league (whichever format people want most). i have panzer lehr, we have a russian player, a polish force, another german player and one british. we also have another couple of guys who come now and again who have british and germans. also, we will be playing a HUGE flames game at the festival of history at kelmarsh (near Northampton) next year and if you joined the club you would be most welcome to join us at the weekend. we will also be running 2 ancients games, 1 ACW, 1 WW1 aircraft battle and a gladiator game run by Wargames Illustrated magazine, and a review of this years event is in the cuurrent issue of the mag, so feel free to check that out. also, please take a look at our club flikr site which has pics from this years GW gamesday (we ran a table) and from kelmarsh. if you send me a personal message through this site with your tel number i will give you a call and tell you more about the club. go to the members section and find my listing and then click on that and then click on send personal message. the link for the pics is www.flickr.com/groups/phoenixgaming/cheers for now, by the way, where do you live etc. we meet in rushden at the Scout HQ

Hi Brinkman
I've just started playing FOW and had a run through game last night. I'm the one collecting the Poles trying to do a LW and MW in Italy from the FOW briefings on their website.
I hope to be doing plenty of FOW gaming. Furiously painting at the moment.
I've only just joined the club as well and can testify that it's a friendly bunch at the club.
Cheers Alexs

Wow quick reply!
Will send you a personal message with contact details etc.
Sounds good and the FOW campaign / league sounds like a great idea. I am currently in Grendon but will be moving to Wollaston in late November hopefully so I'm only 10 mins or so away from Rushden.
Cheers

Wednesdays are the regular meet then? Roddy

There is poll being taken regarding moving to a Tuesday.
The downstairs hall is available on a Tuesday which will give more space.
There won't be a decision until everybody votes though.
There are a couple of nights over the next couple of months that have moved to Thursday (See message banners on the top of the main page).
From what I remember from last night it will be a small army with 3 Tigers! Plenty of table space to hide from them though.

Yes will have to look at the lists but your right the tigers take up a huge amount of points - but they do look cool! I Just had a chat to Carl on the phone and will be down next Weds so hope to see you then.

Hi Roddy, I'm the other new player with the almost ready German army. Welcome! It all seems to be going along nicely and yes, it is a friendly club. Look forward to meeting you. I'm playing "Wings of war" next week. Do you want to borrow a plane, it's a really easy game to pick up if you haven't played already.

Hi Andy,
Yes would be good to borrow a plane for wings of war. I have had a quick look at the web site and looks quite simple to pick up.
Cheers
Roddy
