I was just sorting out some old files on the computer when I noticed this which I was originally going to use for Gamesday and then thought they wouldn't go for it because of the criteria imposed. The idea is in the posted rules (old doc format). See the bottom of this message for the download - (you will have to register or log in for it) You need Four to five players. Two to play three heroes each One to play the vampire and the town militia etc one or two to play the Goblin Horde. This game is played on a 4X4 table see details. What I need you to do choose two from below and make up your heroes as detailed but first put in the request to do so. The heroes are from dwarf, high elf, wood elf, empire, lizardman armies plus a BSB Bretonnian and a vampire hero. I would like to play this in a few weeks time when all has subsided schoolwise and with Kelmarsh. However put in your request to make your heroes up. For example Julie may decided to request Dwarf, Empire and the wood elf heroes and she will then make up these characters. They will have to be sent to me to ensure that that they are legal (although if you look at the rules this becomes somewhat a moot point). Its an idea that would sit well for perhaps the scout night where you can get several players around a smaller table. Undoubtedly this could be tinkered with to perhaps use with WAB2 although the loss of magic would seriously hinder the mercenaries. I realise that some people may not have the necessary WFB books but it doesn't stop others posting up a few hero make ups here and for our guys to nick the idea / build for the hero. Again please read about the build carefully as they are supposed to be a bit unique. Hence the generosity in their points allocation and ability to take certain magic items. So if you are a rules buff and want to play it square then this is not for you. Attachments:

Warren,
I love the Seven Samurai & Magnificent Seven films, so this sounds brilliant.
I've just started building my first WHFB army, doing Lizardmen, so I could only provide one character for the battle (a Scar-Veteran or Skink Priest) but I would love to take part if you don't mind being patient with a newbie who's still getting to grips with the rules.
Craig.

Great - yep as you've guessed very much in the line of the films you mentioned. I'll probably be Yul Brynner...
Ok there is plenty of time but as you can see from the size of the board that's a lot of people around it if everybody just takes one hero. If you can muster another two then that would be nice... I'll make the others characters for you (and supply models) if you want just choose which race you would like - can't wait to see your Lizardman hero stats. This is the only race I don't have a model for so that was lucky. This would probably be for July sometime. Anybody else? Hang on Julie wants to play a Dwarf and an Empire guy.
So as far as I can see
Goblin Horde : Jon Nicholls and I (let's get the English grammar right) Vampire hero and militia: Stephen Mawson Lizardmen hero: Craig Wilson Dwarf hero : Julie Empire hero: Julie Bret BSB: Craig Wilson High elf hero: Stephen Mawson Wood Elf hero: Julie
Not on the rules deliberately will be one or two random things to spice it up a bit. They will be surprises!
Ok updated: We have four players just looking for one that wants to help me out with the gobbos. If you do want to play I'm sure two signed up would relinquish a hero each for you to step in.

I can do a high elf Hero, and actually the Vampire (although I'd have to borrow the current Book to work out what options to give him). I have some VC stuff but only the old rule book.

Excellent Stephen - I don't mind you having a look at my book but I won't be down until a week Tuesday - as I have a backlog of coursework to mark. You are also in for the militia, huntsmen and their rather rubbishy arcane trebuchet. I will update above.

I've got a few Mordheim guys kicking around that could be the militia, as well as some very old metal Empire Halbards that have a bit of a Town Guard look about them.
Although I guess you've also got plenty of guys to cover that as well.

You could bring a trebuchet / rock lobber as long as looks dilapidated...
Yeah I have huntmen and militia as you remember you borrowed them for the Rumble last year. but its up to you what you wish to play with.
I questioned what would happen in the magic phase and deemed that the magnificent seven are an army in their own right so its as you were with the two dice roll at the start of every magic phase - no more than twelve power dice can be used in any one magic phase.
Is there anybody else that's game for this - even as an introduction - I will make the characters for you if you want and supply models.

Would everybody be ok with Tuesday 5th July?? Julie and I are fine with it.
It would be nice having another person orchestrating the gobbos and snotlings etc with me. Any takers?

5th July is good for me. Bernardo the Lizardman is freshly painted and ready to go.

Bernardo? Does he have a flock of homeless children with him and a doctrate under his arm?
Just remember the rules for characters
only 250pts to spend, only heroes - no lords no named characters, You may take a max of two magic items from each section, however sense would dictate that you couldn't take two pieces of armour that were the same ie - a magic heavy armour and a magic light armour. However a magic heavy armour and magic shield or helm is fine.
Only wizards can take arcane items. You cannot have two magic combat weapons in either hand in combat - although you could have a magic missile weapon with a combat weapon.
Just really looking for one person now for this slight bending of the rules game. Ideally to play duo with me.

Well Warren, considering that you had already claimed the Yul Bryner spot and I'm not cool enough to be Steve McQueen I thought that Charles Bronson was the next best option.
I've got the Lizardman character worked out now. Do you still want it sent to you to be checked out first?

Well its up to you if you wish to keep it a surprise - ensuring you have kept to the script in building your mega hero, I don't mind either way. Just make sure you bring your army book with you on the night just in case of a query.

Remember to bring your hero list in with you for Tuesday - also if someone has the following could they please bring them in on the night.
An eagle three Ogres The Green Knight A griffon (the one from the last Island of Blood boxset would suffice) without rider.
they don't have to be painted.
I will explain on the night.
