I have deleted the last topic as Justin has sent me an update so here is the new rulespack. Download and PM me with any queries so that I can relay it back to Justin. There is no point in posting up here as I won't have any of the answers until I contact him. Also Justin is a pretty busy bloke and I'm sure I can speak for him here - replying to each and everyone is time consuming. So please PM me and I will relay it to him in one go. Phoenix Team as of 27/04/2011 WFB doubles team A : Paul Redburn and Darrell Lee WFB Doubles team B : Warren Stevens and Julie Stevens 40K Doubles: Ben Harris and Craig Wilson WAB Doubles: Carl King and Simon Robinson FoW late war Singles: Andy Miller Warmachine: May have to veto if we have nobody to play it. BloodBowl: Stephen Mawson Magic the Gathering : Will Stock. We have now found a 40K player to join Ben in the doubles game - thanks Craig. Thank you to Andy who stepped in for the FoW. As of today this is the team we will be taking. Attachments:

Warren; can you ask if one force of 1000pts in the WAB doubles has both a general and a bsb in it, can the other 1000pts have no characters in it, i.e. just units and no characters at all.

Carl I have asked now. Just received this memo from Justin at the Norman Cross Crusaders:
"hi all, glad to announce all is set for the tourney looking forward to seeing you all on the 5th June. A Couple of things to ask:- 1.could we have team lists for the draw by next week(Sunday 29thmay) 2. bring your joker clearly written( player/players name and format) in a sealed envelope, and keep it quiet they wont be opened until all results are in. 3. remember to bring copies of all lists and any relevant rule books faqs etc 4. Anyone who came last year will remember parking is limited NCC members will be outside directing people to available slots. 5. food is ordered (breakfast/lunch) refreshments will be available all day in the form of tea/coffee/crisps and pop! 6. and finally hordes /war machine is of the menu after several drop outs and vetoes its gone. that's it for now. regards, Justin. "
I already know where the Joker will played but we have to keep this under wraps so please do not reply on here about who you think should get the joker or not, talk to me at the club.
Couple of things to remember as Justin has pointed out - one is your army lists (two copies), some pocket money for refreshments during the day, any books faqs that pertain your army playing, and sportsmanship.
Could everybody confirm that they are ok with their systems and are definitely available on Sunday 5th June to represent the club. Please also ensure that you have the means to get up to Yaxley on this date - if you don't then I seriously suggest you try and arrange a lift with someone that does. I forsee some major car repairs to my car so I may be one asking for a lift if my MoT goes wrong.
Thankfully Warmachines / hordes has been taken out and vetoed. So no teams will be losing points and I guess that frees up a little space tablewise (less cramped).

FOR MAGIC THE GATHERING - (WILL) Got a message from Justin
"hi all just a quick update:- the rules have changed with regards to the magic the gathering. After several comments from members at our club and 2 others there could be some killer/broken 1 turn win decks coming on the 5th and with that in mind we have decided to change the format to STANDARD. Apologies if anyone has gone out and spent £1000 on a black lotus(i doubt it). the rules are as follows; Standard Format Deck Construction Updated March 18, 2011 Constructed decks must contain a minimum of sixty cards. There is no maximum deck size; however, you must be able to shuffle your deck with no assistance. If a player wishes to use a sideboard, it must contain exactly fifteen cards. With the exception of basic land cards, a player’s combined deck and sideboard may not contain more than four of any individual card, counted by its English card title equivalent. All cards named Plains, Island, Swamp, Mountain, and Forest are basic. The following card sets are permitted in Standard tournaments: · Zendikar · Worldwake · Rise of the Eldrazi · Magic 2011 · Scars of Mirrodin · Mirrodin Besieged · New Phyrexia (effective May 13, 2011) · Magic 2012 (effective July 15, 2011)
There are currently no banned cards in Standard tournaments. sorry its so close to the tourney but I feel this was necessary to create a better gaming experience for all 4 participants."
If that means anything to those in the know then fair enough... I don't have a scooby as I don't play it. Please make sure you make note or if somebody could email or phone Will please.

HUZZAH!
Well done everyone in winning the Inter-club tournament at Norman Cross today. Special thanks go out to Justin Easby and Norman cross for making us all feel welcome. Nicely run with a good buffet to boot!
Thank you to all at the Phoenix that gave their time and effort to get us the first place. To Paul and Darrell all I have to say is - what a pair of jokers!
To be fair in praise if it wasn't for Ben and Craig winning their 40K match when it mattered it would have been a little different. Still Julie and I got a win to start us off but it went downhill from then with two losses afterwards. One we got royally spanked and the second was a close run thing.
Still everybody did their bit and that's what counts. Well done everyone!

CHAMPIONS!!!! Well done everyone it was a real team effort and as for being a pair of jokers all I can say is "Its the way we roll them" A big thanks must go to Justin and everyone at the Norman cross for putting on such a good event I am already looking forward to next years event well done on a personnel not all our games were hard fought games with the dice favoring us as well as some sneaky tactics being the deciding factor in all of the games. Just the sort of game me and paul like tense.

Oh yeah - I got nominated for best painting - that was nice, although they have been painted up now for quite a few years! Just proves that spraying them afterwards with matt varnish really does keep the paint in place!
