Thought I'd start a new thread for this rather than mix up your sign-up thread
==============
Just downloaded the PDF rulepack and read through it and I have one query
Your rulepack states that each force may contain only 2 of the same special choice and 1 of the same rare choice, which is consistent with the standard 8th Ed rules (3 special + 2 rare) -- so far, so good
However, the latest FAQ for high elves adds an Elite Army rule allowing high elves to ingore this (in effect replacing the extra special and rare choices high elves had under 7th Ed) -- I quote
My question is: Do high elves get the elite army rule? (i.e. can they ignore these limits?)
==============
BTW - A small correction High elves get only one bolt thrower for a rare choice not two (you're thinking of the dark elf version)

Yes this was originally in the pack. Don't know where this bit went. However HE will be allowed one extra same rare and special - so 2 and 3 respectively. So elite - yes!
Whoops - you are correct I put in the word "high" instead of "dark" for the bolt thrower its common knowledge that HE are only one choice HE - thanks for noticing but please ignore this bit or correct as described.

May I ask why there is a restriction upon number of rares/specials per force in terms of duplication?
E.g. A tomb king player couldn't take 2 screaming skull catapaults (one of the anchors of a TK force) even if his allie didn't take any rares (or dupliations).

It depends on who you ally with - the rules are there as they are and they won't change. Its no different from any other competition that has there own stipulations. Those are ours. If you wished you could opt for a bone giant to accompany it although I believe you wouldn't have much in the way of points for much else. Team up with some orc and goblins or empire and suddenly those x2 duplicate special war machine choices look quite nice - with the screaming skull catapult. Besides with any luck the TK may have a new book by then and people will be singing a different tune . Early days yet ;D. No special characters as we want people to have fun rather than be herohammered - besides a lot of special Lords would take up a lot of points. VC are pretty much stuffed or should I say limited with a Lord choice as it is - which reminds me of an old conversation we had about VC being nuked in 8th. I still stand by it having played a number of games with VC - 7 played 5 loses 1 draw and 1 minor win - says it all really . However Orcs and Goblins now seem quite tasty - played 6 lost two no draws won 4.

If they got the assault bonus from Thunderstomp they would be beasty but currently they're a massive drain on points. And you know you can make more broken combos ala herohammer with normal heroes as opposed to specials?

Its your list you do what you can under the rules. Bone giants aren't that bad ... your sounding like I did a few weeks back! Besides TK isn't the only army out there and to be honest I didn't envisage many people taking them as they are (if you read the rulespack and the BRB) suspicious allies. This doesn't give them much scope with a BSB or leadership via the general. Then there is that new book that just may (I'll repeat that) just may pop up - after pigs figure out flight. I may be taking TK so I am in the same boat as you ...
