are these just forum guys like us who sign up to post.
if yes, then i wouldn't take this as 'the rule' until it's answered by the Warhammer Historical guys, via the books author(s).
dont think this is an 'official' answer.

We'll wait and see - don't know who Edward is but get someone like Tommy up there answering questions then I guess I would take his word as he is very knowledgeable and runs a number of tournaments.

so do we mate, but people wouldn't take our word on stuff if we ran a tournie using new upcoming WFB rules, they'd want an official faq doc.
perhaps we should post the question on the WH site if we can via a contact link.

The answer for Drilled troops in column makes sense to me. Charges are declared and done before movement.
So Drilled troops in column cannot declare a charge, and then change its formation at the start of its move and then move into contact.

base sizes havent changed, still the same as other GW rule sets. i.e. 20mm x 20mm for infantry 25mmx50mm for cav.

Units sizes haven't actually changed its just in the way the game is now played. Of course its going to be unit size of 5 models minimum for infantry / Cavalry etc so it will be a personal preference to how you want to go. However the reason why people are saying to widen frontage and to lessen ranks is because you get a +1 for being close order troops and only a max of 2 for ranks for CR. Hence the larger frontage for more attacks.

Hello, finally got my rules and went through them with a view of seeing what changes i had to make to my army list. The one big problem i have is that the Thracian list calls the infantry light,so now there clased as open order (so no rank bonus) but they're also listed as warband (so +3 rank bonus). Now which takes precedence if its open order i will probably have to have a re-think

I would pose the question over here - wabforum.co.uk/viewforum.php?f=56 since nobody has come forward for you here. Let me know so that Simon and I can put it into our FAQ or ERRATA.

Right, it's +2 rank bonus for formed open order, no rank bonus for warband, the +3 is for a close order warband leadership test, and it's a +2 for open order leadership test for warband. So I'll try thracians and kill all before me then chop off their heads and display them as a warning to all who would invade my lands.
