This is great News! However Simon it does mean reading through it and then making completely new tournie rules pack for WAB 2.0 for both of us.

Have had a quick read through - some nice changes and clarrifications, especially like the new idea of momentum and the close and open order idea.
A quick look at the roster for the 1600pt Danish army reveals that the beserkers appear to have changed - the stat line is much better than in the shieldwall book or the Byzantium version. Oh well roll on the new army lists

I hope that the improved stat line (A=2, WS =5 - yes 5) means that the "leap out and die " rule is going away to be replaced with something less silly.
YES I know I have them in my army, but really I'd be daft not to.
Also like max possible str is 5 regardless of weapons/bonuses rule. It means my S7 Konnungar as Army General is no longer possible - but for the sake of a more realistic game I'm happy with that

Interesting - you must bring it down for a read on Tuesday. Can you marry what you have done in terms of the Axes and Axis tournie so far with this? Would we be doing the ABC system still? Its just that I have been asked twice in the last couple of days of where the rules packs are for this and FoW and I'm turning up empty. Obviously these people are not aware that WAB 2.0 just came out!!!

will also bring my copy so more people can have a look at same time.
managed to get all new models for the 2000pt greek hoplite army for just £65, result!
however, the new 'hardback' rulebook cost HALF what the new army cost and at 215ish pages for £32, it makes me shudder to think what the fantasy book will cost bearing in mind its about 516 pages.

How many hoplites did you get - are they the Immortal miniature ones? Dying to see these in the plastic? Tell me what you got model wise! I hope these new found models won't get in the way of painting the NNC zulu guys .

3 boxes of hoplites giving 102 plastic models so this will give me 4 units of 20 hoplites, 19 spartans and a few spares. then i got the king and two bodyguard from immortal with him to send me 10 cretan archers. then i added 6 greek heavy cavalry from Essex miniatures.
not a lot of units but tasty.
doing more zulu painting later today and tomorrow, so they MAY be ready for tuesday, but if not then the week after as i want to start doing the hoplites.
will bring a box tuesday for you to have a butchers

Are they not on the smaller size as when we Stephen got those archers they looked a lot smaller than the foundry or Newline 28mm models
