d**n I was waiting until I got paid today! I think a number at the Phoenix were so pre-occupied with Kelmarsh that we weren't quick enough. I see you have a reserve with 3 people on it already. My wife and I would be interested but it would be both of us or nothing. As it stands I can't see us getting in at the moment.

How about we do a small one day tournament on one of our Staurdays for club members and invited guests £5-10 entry would cover costs and a trophy. Standard tournament rules and army sizes, all we would need is a rota and an a couple of designated umpires (who could probably still play just not rule on their games). 20 people and 10 tables would fit nicely I would think. Any support???

we could do this early doors next year, say about feb time perhaps. not many shows running then and think we may get some decent turn out from northampton and bedford, maybe cranfield and milton keynes.

Sounds like a nice plan. The only small fly in the ointment is that fact that we only have 9 pairs of tables. So only 18 players max, unless we can get another pair of tables from somewhere.

does that include my two tables? you can use those even if i'm not at the club remember. thats what they're there for after all.
did we get any feedback about more tables from the scout leaders after the AGM?

This sounds like a very good idea - I was thinking about doubles to get more in. If the GW have their doubles GT for fantasy early next (April) then quite a few people will be wanting to test play their armies before that. If we only have 9 tables (is that including Carl's?) then I can see 38 (40) people max coming. However, this needs to be advertised early enough. How are we set for all dayers next year Stephen - any dates? As Carl has said there are a lot of clubs around that have people that may be interested. "Rushden Rumble?" "Phoenix Fantasy Fight or Flight" aliteration?? "Rushden Wreckage (or Ruins?)
oh ok then I give in - "Phoenix doubles match-ups!"

I can assure you guys that if we know the date well in advance and it doesn't clash with other local fixtures then I will promote it internally at the club and you should get several of us over to support the event!!
Good luck.

That's nice of the Northampton Warlords - cheers guys! I'm sure that doubles is the way to go here. To be honest a lot of people prefer it and its more pennies in the coffers.
Febuary or March sound like good times. I have had a look at the numerous clubs sprouting up within at least an hour or so away from us. Maybe I could get a few invites out after we have decided what we are doing and get the go ahead from all commitee members.
Its interesting to know that there is a Peterborough Gaming Club.
This is quite exciting!

The local clubs I know of are Warwickshire Gamers, Brackley Gamers, Daventry Vaulters, Cambridge Wargames etc etc. I have put a list on my useful links section on www.herdofnerds.weebly.com which is my personal website!! Hope it helps... Cheers Nobby
