Just to make it perfectly clear there is no boycott of any fantasy system at this club. If you want to play AoS or 8th edition please come down and make your marks. All the hullabaloo about AoS and quite a bit from me admittedly was more nervousness of the unknown. I am actually having a game of it next week with Jon so hopefully I can see how it works for myself rather than just watching a few games. Looking forward to it! Also Craig and I will be going to an AosS doubles tournamnet to see how that works. 8th edition is not dead at all at this club and people will continue to play it ... if they wish. In fact if you wish and End of Times game just ask for a game. I'm sure you will get a few people to play against. WAB was kicked to kerb by GW some years back and we still have a number of members still playing it. There is a fan based 9th edition that I know is being devised by the online community - how this will go I don't know. Some people may even wish to tackle Kings of War as now they have a second edition out.

Played AoS for the first time yesterday and was a bit tentative with it. I did forget a lot of things that the army is capable of doing. However found if you play the right synergies that some troops become over powerful. This wasn't fun for me to see my crypt ghouls decimate a unit of 40 eternal guards in two rounds. It sure wasn't fun for Jon - sorry mate. However on the plus side the treeman giant and most monsters seem to get a good buff. Although my Mortis Engine didn't really do much until the end with its coup de gras reliquary one use option. The treeman busted up my vargheist pretty well and at least my ethereal units could be hit and wounded in this game without magic weapons. However it is very clear that characters that supply buffs must be terminated very quickly in this game. On the whole it was enjoyable and I would like to thank Jon for a good game.

I really like it we have our own comp at PWGC . 100 wound army ,no more than 2 8+ wound characters,no more than 2 10+ monster,no summoning above the 100 wounds . Works very well. The 9th fan rules are rubbish

Don't like change, It took me this long to get the 8th edition rules right. So happy to stick with 8th edition.
