Thanks Tony,
I'm just glad it was a warm day yesterday - as otherwise your Spartans might have been a bit cold
Sad to say, thinking about 2016's event already
Cheers

Want to say a big thank you for those that came yesterday. Although numbers were down a little this year it was great to see everyone. On a personal note I would like to thank those I played yesterday Craig, Martyn, and Simon. Martyn's game was particularly exciting going down to the wire with a big swing going his way ... I got greedy and paid the price! Here are the results Results: 1) Keith Tait (Trojans)- 69pts (8645 vps) 2) Andy Mellor (Assyrians)- 56pts (5020 vps) 3) Martyn Hill (Gallic tribes)- 54pts (6422 vps) 4) Simon Robinson (New Kingdom Egyptians)- 54pts (4232 vps) 5) Warren Stevens (Pre -Persian wars Spartans)- 52pts (4620 vps) 6) Dave Johnson (Classical Indians) - 52pts (4177 vps) 7) Dave Pearson (Sumerians)- 44pts (3021 vps) 8) Paul Tysoe (Hittites) - 44pts (2432 vps) 9) Tony Sansom (Spartans) - 43pts (2927 vps) 10)George Tysoe (Gallic tribes)- 37pts (2317 vps) 11)Julie Stevens (Xerxes Persians) - 37pts (1827 vps) 12)Craig Wilson (Theban Greeks)- 34pts (684 vps) Martyn Hill won the most Bloodiest Battler award which sees Vps for AND against used to decide who has had the bloodiest battles. Martyn scored 11124 vps. Keith Tait was second with 10024 vps. In third was George Tysoe who amassed 8729 vps. This award was sponsored by RJ Smith and Sons of Rushden. Julie Stevens won the best sports... two people wanted to give her more scores than were actually allowed... Dave Johnson won the Best Painted army ... with Tony Sansom in for second place (beaten by one measly point)each were awarded prizes sponsored by Timeline miniatures. Best battle camp award went to Dave Pearson for his Sumerians - lovely obelisk in the centre. Last place medal "Axed to Death" award went to Craig Wilson. Well done to all the winners and all that made this tournament work. We will be expecting a lot more next year as its classical so keep you eyes open. We are also considering changing the date so that it doesn't clash with so many other WAB dates and holidays. Special thank you to Timeline miniatures and RJ Smith and son of Rushden for sponsoring us. If you wish tyo view individual results please look at this excel sheet: axes wab 2015.xls (17.5 KB)

Thanks to Simon and Warren et al for organising. Thanks to my opponents - hope especially that newbies George and Craig come back next year. With any luck I'll be back next year.
